Recommended Restaurant Near Yangjae Station: Sikgyeop Seocho Direct Store

Living near Yangjae Station, I often find myself pondering where to go after work. Recently, an old friend visited the neighborhood, and we decided to check out Sikgyeop Seocho Direct Store.
The location is about a 7-8 minute walk from Exit 2 of Yangjae Station. I walked from my home, while my friend took the subway, making it a convenient meeting spot.
Address: 424, Hyoryeong-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul (Sikgyeop Seocho Direct Store)
Operating Hours: Monday to Friday 16:00 - 23:00, weekends may vary.
This place is a local favorite for meat. While there are many restaurants around Yangjae Station suitable for company dinners, finding a comfortable spot to sit and enjoy meat isn't always easy. Sikgyeop Seocho Direct Store has a clean interior with spacious table arrangements, making it a great place to catch up with friends.
Despite the lively atmosphere, it’s not too noisy to hold a conversation, which is just the vibe you want from a local meat restaurant.
The restaurant is easy to find as it’s located on the roadside. My friend, who was visiting for the first time, found it right away. There’s information about corkage fees at the entrance, which is a nice touch.

After carefully perusing the menu (even though I was hungry), we ordered a platter of assorted beef and soybean paste rice.
The beef platter was substantial and looked very satisfying. As soon as it hit the charcoal grill, the aroma filled the air, enhancing the whole meat-eating experience. The outside was slightly crispy while the inside was juicy, making it perfect for wrapping in lettuce.
My friend kept saying, 'This place is pretty good!' as we grilled the meat. I also appreciated the side dishes, which were simple and well-presented.
There’s a self-service bar where you can refill side dishes as needed. Once the charcoal was ready, I confidently took on the task of grilling the meat.
The assorted meat platter is a signature dish at Sikgyeop. There’s a guide to the different cuts of meat, which is helpful since it can be easy to forget what the staff explains.
While there’s a sort of rule to start with the leaner cuts, I was too hungry and went for the quicker-cooking pieces first. We were so busy grilling and eating that we forgot to take many photos of the wrapped lettuce.

One of the highlights of the evening was that they allowed corkage for wine. My friend brought a bottle as a housewarming gift, and I inquired about corkage fees, which turned out to be free for up to two bottles, with a fee of 10,000 won for each additional bottle. It was a nice change from the usual soju or beer typically served at meat restaurants, adding a touch of sophistication to our meal.
There was a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, and we wished we could enjoy more, but we had plans the next day. We promised to come back again.
We also couldn't forget about the soybean paste rice, which is a must-have at any meat restaurant. The combination of meat and carbs was perfect, offering a nice spicy kick. It was rich and savory, making it a great way to finish off the meal. We joked about how we always end up overeating when we meet, yet we cleaned our plates.
In summary, Sikgyeop Seocho Direct Store is a solid choice if you're looking for a place to enjoy meat near Yangjae Station. It’s not a trendy hotspot, but you’ll naturally find yourself saying, 'Let’s come here again.' I plan to invite more friends next time to fully enjoy the assorted platter.
