Raw Shrimp Sashimi Season at Yeonjubang Yeonnam Branch: A Review

It's raw shrimp sashimi season! oO
A review of Yeonjubang Yeonnam Branch, a pub in Yeonnam-dong.
One of the days during the Chuseok holiday...
Feeling it was a shame to just let it pass, we decided to have a casual drink in the evening and visited <Yeonjubang Yeonnam Branch>, a seafood tent restaurant in Yeonnam-dong.
I had visited before and enjoyed so many delicious dishes, so I came back again.
Is this one of my go-to date spots in Yeonnam-dong?
Autumn is for shrimp.
Shrimp is for autumn.
They sell raw shrimp sashimi.
I had to try it.
Yeonjubang in Yeonnam-dong isn't very spacious, but it's cozy.
It has a nice retro vibe.
We arrived around 5 PM, and it was almost full after we got there. A popular place even during the holidays?
Nearly half of the groups were couples on dates.
The atmosphere is nice, and the quality of the food is good, which seems to attract a lot of people.
It was crowded with people when I visited before, and it's still popular...
The owner is very kind, and above all, the food is amazing, so I think people who know about it keep coming back.
The menu at Yeonjubang, a Korean pub in Yeonnam-dong, mainly consists of seafood!
There are so many options that it's hard to choose.
But since it's the season, I decided to try the raw shrimp sashimi, and after a short but long discussion with my friend ^^, we ordered beef yukjeon (thinly sliced and pan-fried beef), nurungji tang (scorched rice soup), and a Halla Tonic.
They have a variety of traditional Korean liquors at reasonable prices.
If you like traditional liquor, give it a try.
They even had my favorite Goheung Yuja (citron) wine.
As a retro restaurant, they serve water in a Del Monte(?) bottle that anyone born in the 90s would recognize.
It's cool and nutty, so it's really good.
Pickled garlic shoots were served as a basic side dish.
It has a subtle savory flavor that makes you eat it without thinking.
A great menu choice for a Korean pub.
Here comes the Halla Tonic set!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought they would give me a small-sized tonic water, but they gave me a large size, which was very touching (a great deal).
It comes with ice and lemon, so you don't have to order them separately, which is great.
Do you all know this?
The best Halla Tonic ratio is 1:1.
That's the golden ratio ✨
진짜 안주 등장..
Raw shrimp sashimi, nurungji tang, beef yukjeon, let's go!
The visually stunning raw shrimp sashimi has arrived~~~
It comes with butter-grilled shrimp heads, making it a complete set.
As someone who prefers raw shrimp or soy sauce shrimp sushi, this was a great choice.
Since the raw shrimp sashimi comes with grilled shrimp heads, I wanted to order ramen...
But we had a long way to go with our meal, so I held back with all my might.
The raw shrimp sashimi is chewy and tender, melting in your mouth.
The size is substantial, so I can see why it's in season.
One Thursday, I don't remember when,
I had raw shrimp sashimi while drinking with my colleagues and kept singing about wanting to eat it again.
Yay, my wish has come true~~~
The grilled shrimp heads were crispy and savory.
At first, I thought you were supposed to eat them whole(?), so I just chewed them without realizing my mouth was getting poked.
My friend naturally showed me how to peel them...lol.
A silly mistake..lol
But it was still very savory and delicious.
The nurungji tang was so good that the drinks kept flowing.
My friend really liked it.
The fact that it came with *gat-kimchi* (mustard leaf kimchi) was the real highlight.
Is it called *gat-kimchi* because it's *god-kimchi* (a divine kimchi)?
It was so delicious that we asked for another plate.
The nurungji tang was perfect for when you're not that hungry but want something warm.
I was torn between seafood ramen and nurungji...
I have to try the seafood ramen next time...
The smell of ramen was tormenting me while I was eating (p
The quality of the beef yukjeon was insane (p
I wasn't that hungry when I first arrived.
I wondered if I could finish it all, but I devoured it in no time.
It wasn't too salty and was seasoned just right, which is my style.
If I didn't have plans the next day, I would have chugged *makgeolli* (Korean rice wine) with it.
The soy sauce marinade that comes with it is also delicious.
If you put a little green onion on it and eat it, it's heavenly.
I revisited Yeonjubang in Yeonnam-dong after a long time.
It was still delicious, and the atmosphere was still great.
Next time, I'm going to get the assorted seafood and ramen.
Then I'm out, 20000!
