New Year Trip to Busan
My first blog of 2026 is about my trip to Busan!
I spent New Year's in Busan, so I'm really excited!
It has been a long time since I visited Busan, and I can't wait to explore.
I even worked on the last day of 2025, but my parents brought me the trendy Ddukkong, which I tried for the first time. It's not really my style, though!
Unfortunately, I was struggling with rhinitis, and my voice was barely there, which made things tough. But receiving a thoughtful letter really lifted my spirits!
After work, I impulsively decided to head to Busan for dinner. I ended up finishing 2025 with a bowl of soup and a glass of soju.
When I opened my eyes, I found myself in Busan on January 1, 2026. I don't want to get older... it's getting harder.
Since I was in Busan, I kicked off my first day on a positive note!
I took a long-awaited selfie that turned out great. I think I saw a lot of planes in Busan, probably because of the airport.
My first meal was milmyeon, and I could definitely tell the noodles were special. I expected fewer people since it was winter, but there were quite a few!
First Day Highlights
To make a wish for the new year, I visited Haedong Yonggungsa(해동용궁사), and it was packed!
The sea was breathtaking, so I snapped some photos. Unfortunately, I couldn't go inside.
After checking into my accommodation and warming up, I felt like I had truly arrived in Busan.
We enjoyed some delicious rice cakes; I had two, and my brother had one. It wasn't my greed; he just offered it to me!
Even though I couldn't resist claw machines, I still couldn't win anything. One day, I'll live in a place like that and enjoy the sunset by the sea.
As the sun set, I rushed towards the beautiful view. The moon was stunning!
It looked really cold, but I had to take some photos quickly.
Food and Night View
As we wandered around looking for dinner, it was freezing, and my cough and rhinitis worsened. My brother suggested we take a break at our accommodation, and I was amazed by the night view.
I tried eel for the first time, and it was delicious! I love seafood, but I think I overindulged in Busan.
To digest, we checked out a place called Faker, and my brother found a restaurant serving fish cake soup, which was warm and comforting.
After wandering around the market and picking up a few things, we went back to our accommodation for a drink.
I ate so much that I ended up quite drunk and had a tough time sleeping due to a hangover.
Second Day and Birthday
One of my highlights was Hai Di Lao; it was incredible! I couldn't believe how delicious it was and found myself singing about wanting more.
Thanks to Hai Di Lao, I managed to recover a bit from my hangover and did a little exploring in Chinatown.
We headed to Lotte World, but I was anxious because I heard many rides were closed, so I just took pictures with my puffy face.
What to do next? I spotted a luge nearby, so I decided to give that a try. It was a mix of cold and fun!
While walking around, I found a market and tried bibim dangmyeon, which was delicious, and the tteokbokki was amazing too!
We took our food back to the accommodation, but honestly, it just tasted like pizza.
For my birthday party, my brother sang and danced, but I was too tired to join in, so I just slept. He woke me up at midnight to wish me a happy birthday.
We went to a department store where he bought me a gift, and throughout the day, I received birthday wishes at least 30 times!
Reflections
As I get older, I find that I don't think of birthdays as something special anymore. But I appreciate the friends who consistently reach out and the people who make me feel special on my day.
In 2026, I want to continue being good to my loved ones and have a happy year ahead! Wishing everyone a prosperous new year!
