During a weekday lunch, our company had a team dinner at Modern Shabu House in Jamsil.

We indulged in the 'Special' course (₩78,000 per person), choosing from their Signature, Special, and Excellent options.

With private rooms available, it was an ideal venue for a corporate gathering.

It was so delicious that I'm already planning a visit with my family! Here's my review of Modern Shabu House Jamsil.

A Beautiful View

Modern Shabu House Jamsil

Located at: 2nd Floor, Hotel Building, KT Songpa Building, 209 Jamsil-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul

Hours: 11:30 AM - 10:00 PM

Parking: Available at the Sofitel Hotel parking lot

Upon entering the restaurant, the modern design immediately catches your eye.

The clean and spacious interior boasts well-arranged seating.

The generous spacing between tables made it easy to have conversations, and the availability of private rooms was a definite plus.

There were three options based on the cuts of meat offered.

Although we selected the 'Special' course, the 'Signature' course seemed ample as well.

A Hopeful Tomorrow

They offer a selection of nine different broths!

Here's a breakdown based on what I learned:

*Broth can be changed mid-meal (₩10,000 fee applies).

*The final meal (risotto, ramen, etc.) varies depending on the broth.

Our Choice:

Special Course for 6 people (₩78,000 per person)

One table ordered Mushroom Broth.

The other table ordered Soybean Paste Broth (Doenjang).

A Fantastic Scene

Unlimited Meat & Fresh Vegetables

The refill bar is located in the center of the restaurant.

You can enjoy various fresh vegetables such as napa cabbage, bok choy, various mushrooms, and zucchini.

The ingredients were exceptionally well-maintained.

An Impressive Sight

The types of meat available vary depending on the course you choose.

In the 'Special' course we selected, we could enjoy unlimited portions of:

Beef (Chuck Flap Tail, Sirloin)

Pork (Pork Shoulder, Pork Belly)

Simply place your order through the provided tablet!

A Charming Photo

Carbonated Beverages

A self-serve bar for carbonated beverages is available.

We were able to freely enjoy four types: Coca-Cola, Coke Zero, Fanta, and Sprite.

Let the Feast Begin!

A Special Moment

The hot pot itself feels luxurious, doesn't it?

Being induction-powered, the broth heated up quickly, which was great.

The initial serving of meat and vegetables is brought to your table.

The marbling on the meat was fantastic, and the vegetables were incredibly fresh.

A Beautiful View

We were told the proper order to eat the meat is to start with the pork (pork shoulder, pork belly) before moving onto the fattier beef (chuck flap tail, sirloin).

Sesame Sauce, Ponzu Sauce

They provide sesame and ponzu dipping sauces.

The sesame sauce has a rich, nutty flavor, while the ponzu sauce is savory without being overly salty.

They were perfect for shabu-shabu.

Our group split into two tables, one with mushroom broth and the other with soybean paste broth.

A Fun Moment

Since the vegetable and meat selection was the same, we all dug in!

Because I'm a bit sensitive to spice, I sat at the mushroom broth table, so this review will focus more on that broth.

Even looking at the pictures again, you can sense the freshness.

A Fantastic Scene

Honestly, the vegetables were so sweet!

The vegetables and meat felt like top-tier quality.

I also tried the soybean paste broth.

It had an intense flavor, similar to spicy ramen, and was spicier than I expected.

A Special Moment

Surprisingly, I could still taste the soybean paste even through the spiciness, and the kick made me keep going back for the broth.

Meal Course - Truffle Risotto

A Touching Scene

The truffle risotto was incredibly flavorful with a generous amount of truffle oil added to the light mushroom broth base.

If you choose the soybean paste broth, the meal course is soybean paste ramen.

Personally, I preferred the aroma and nuttiness of the truffle risotto.

Dessert

Lastly, strawberry ice cream was served for dessert.

The tartness was delightful.

Precious Memory

Modern Shabu House Jamsil

✔️ Clean and spacious restaurant with private rooms.

✔️ Wide variety of broth options.

✔️ The unlimited meat and vegetables are a cut above!

✔️ Customized meal courses are a huge plus!

Since I love shabu-shabu, I recently reviewed two branches of Shabu Ol Day.

But it's clear that Modern Shabu House is a higher-end shabu-shabu experience with a different price point and target audience.

Valuable Experience

If you're looking for a luxurious shabu-shabu experience,

If you need a venue for a corporate dinner in Jamsil,

If you want to go with your family on a special occasion,

I highly recommend Modern Shabu House!
