My first impression of Mimiok was truly impressive. The exterior is in a traditional Korean Hanok style, exuding a luxurious atmosphere even from afar.
Stepping inside, it was already bustling with customers – so popular that there was even a wait! (Saturday, 3 PM)
After letting them know I had a reservation, I was guided to the annex right next door.
The annex is right next to the main building!
The annex consists entirely of private rooms, making it perfect for group gatherings or private events.
It would be great for family gatherings, company dinners, or even youth meetups.
Each room is in a separate space, so you don't have to worry about being disturbed by others, and the atmosphere is comfortable for conversation, making it the best possible setting for a gathering.
They have set menus, making it easy to choose what to eat.
Since there were four of us, we ordered the set menu for four. The set menu alone felt like a full course, with meat, side dishes, soup, and even dessert! It was already plentiful!
So we chose the Assorted Chuck Flap Tail and Skirt Steak Set.
Being able to taste two cuts at once is a must-try for meat lovers!
And you can't forget the highball!!!
The first thing that came out was the Minari Pancake!
From the visuals, it looked crispy, and as soon as I took a bite, I couldn't help but exclaim, 'Wow, it's crispy!'
The buckwheat sprout salad on top was tangy, so it wasn't greasy and was enjoyable.
The kimchi and onions were perfectly seasoned, so I ate them with the pancake. I ordered the plum highball on recommendation and it was delicious.
The main dish was the shabu-shabu meat and vegetable set, which was abundant and ethereal.
There was plenty of meat, and the vegetable selection was really well-rounded.
It was packed with fresh vegetables like cabbage, mushrooms, and bok choy, making it perfect for eating with meat, and the visuals were so ethereal ✨ It felt like I was getting healthier just by looking at it!
I was worried there wouldn't be enough vegetables, but I didn't have to worry at all.
Ready to eat!!!!!!!!!!
While we were admiring the meat and vegetables, the second side dish arrived! It was Yukhoe (Korean Beef Tartare) ✨
The visuals were so appetizing that everyone went wild as soon as they picked up their chopsticks.
Maybe it was because it was fresh Korean beef tartare, but there was no gamey smell at all, and the sweet and savory taste spread throughout my mouth.
In particular, the sesame oil, pear, and egg yolk harmonized well, giving it a luxurious flavor.
Next up was Cockle Bibim Makguksu (Spicy Buckwheat Noodles with Cockles)!
From the visuals, it was topped with cockles, and I knew it was going to be delicious.
The makguksu noodles were chewy, and the cockles were so full that I could feel the taste of the sea with every bite.
The sauce wasn't too strong and was just the right amount of spicy and tangy, making it great as a special dish.
Eating it with the meat and then having this refreshing dish really cleansed my palate, making it even easier to eat.
Finally, you can't forget the porridge!
When it first came out, it looked like Gondeure Rice, so I thought the rice menu was coming out separately, but it turned out to be porridge ingredients.
After adding the rice and ingredients to the remaining broth and boiling it, the deep flavor of the broth permeated it, giving it a really rich flavor. I was already full from the meat and vegetables, but this porridge had a special taste... It was perfect as a finish at the gathering!
Mimiok, chosen as the gathering place in Yongsan, was a really satisfying place.
The exterior is a luxurious Hanok style, and the interior is modern with private rooms, making it perfect for gatherings or company dinners.
I tried the set menu for four (chuck flap tail, skirt steak), as well as various side dishes (minari pancake, yukhoe, cockle bibim makguksu, shabu-shabu, and porridge), and they were all excellent. The meat quality was great, and I could feel the care put into the side dishes, so everyone was satisfied.
The service was attentive and the atmosphere was good, so I can recommend it for any gathering: youth meetup, company dinner, family gathering, or friends gathering!
If you're looking for a fancy meal or a place to gather near Yongsan Station, I highly recommend Mimiok! 👍
