Manisan Sanchae: A Culinary Gem in Unjeong's Sannae Village

Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting a fantastic restaurant in Unjeong with some friends. I'm excited to introduce it to you. From refreshing noodles perfect for the hot weather to a satisfying set menu featuring wild vegetable bibimbap, I confidently recommend this Korean restaurant.
1. Manisan Sanchae Information
The restaurant is conveniently located right next to Unjeong Lake Park, making it easy to stop by. On the day we visited, we took a walk in the park beforehand, which made the experience even more refreshing.
Manisan Sanchae Unjeong Branch
Address: 108, Central Park Plaza, 170 Gaon-ro, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do
Hours: Daily 11:00 - 20:00 (Break time 15:00 - 17:00)
There are about three parking spaces in front of the building. If there are no available spots, you can park for free in Unjeong Lake Park's Parking Lot 3.
A banner outside showcased the restaurant's main dishes. The thought of trying the special noodles and the healthy wild vegetable bibimbap set menu made my heart flutter.
The interior featured a lofty and airy space with traditional Korean architecture, adding to the ambiance. The friendly staff made me feel welcome.
I was delighted to learn that no artificial seasonings are used, ensuring a worry-free dining experience. Instead, the restaurant uses herbal enzymes to enhance the flavors, prioritizing both taste and health.
Information about the health benefits of various ingredients used in the dishes was also available. It was surprisingly fun to learn more about the food while waiting for our order.
2. Recommended Menu Items
Orders are placed via a tablet at each table. There was a wide variety of noodle dishes to choose from, and the set menu with Seokgalbi (grilled rib patties) seemed like a great value.
They also offered a healthy Korean set menu. However, I found the 'ban sang' (half-sized table) option more appealing than the full set menu, which seemed a bit pricey and large.
In less than 10 minutes, all the dishes we ordered arrived. Each one looked incredibly appetizing, making my mouth water.
The fact that they serve herbal water instead of regular water is a huge plus. The slightly bitter taste felt healthy and made me want to drink more.
3. Cold Anchovy Noodle & Seokgalbi Set
This is the Cold Anchovy Noodle set with Seokgalbi, which seemed like a great value. The neatly arranged plating on the square tray enhanced the visual appeal.
The kimchi at Manisan Sanchae was bursting with flavor. The fresh aroma and crunchy texture were perfect for stimulating the appetite.
The Chinese artichoke had a unique taste, like a mix of the slightly bitter taste of potatoes and the refreshing sweetness of radish. The sweet and sour pickled preparation made it quite addictive.
I always thought anchovy noodles were only served hot. So, trying the cold version for the first time was a special experience.
I tried adding the kimchi to the noodles. The combination of the soft noodles, the crunchy kimchi, and the rich anchovy broth created a deep and satisfying flavor.
You can enjoy high-quality Seokgalbi as part of an affordable set. The Seokgalbi is grilled over direct heat in the kitchen, giving it a smoky flavor and a delicious sweet marinade.
The harmony of the marinade and the charcoal aroma, along with the tender texture and flavor of the ribs, was simply amazing. It was so delicious that I couldn't stop smiling.
4. Kimchi Noodle Soup
The Kimchi Noodle Soup was another excellent choice. As someone who enjoys spicy cold noodles, this was the most appealing item on the menu.
You can either drink the cold broth as is or pour a little over the noodles to loosen them up. The icy coldness was incredibly refreshing.
The kimchi was fantastic, as expected, but I was particularly impressed with the spicy and sweet sauce. I asked for some extra and enjoyed it with the Seokgalbi, which brought a smile to my face.
5. Croaker Set Menu
The Croaker Set Menu was the epitome of healthy Korean cuisine. The complete and satisfying composition of the meal naturally raised my expectations.
The three side dishes may vary slightly depending on the season or availability. The burdock tempura, lotus root salad, and kimchi were all excellent.
The glistening fish oil reflecting the light looked incredibly appetizing. The plump shape indicated that the fish meat would be plentiful.
The wild vegetable bibimbap was the highlight of the meal. The balance of seasonal vegetables, herbal seasoning (including Korean angelica), and mugwort rice was perfect.
Adding a piece of croaker and some kimchi made it even better. The soy sauce-based seasoning offered a different kind of appeal compared to gochujang (Korean chili paste).
6. Overall Review
My visit to Manisan Sanchae in Unjeong exceeded my expectations. It's a healthy and delicious restaurant that carries on the tradition of the original Manisan Sanchae. If you visit, you definitely won't be disappointed.
