All-You-Can-Eat Beef Gopchang
Extremely Friendly Service
I visited Kim Deok-hoo's Gopchangjo with a friend on a rainy day. It's a well-known gopchang restaurant near Konkuk University!
I used to come here often with friends when I was younger (I've been to the Konkuk University branch several times).
It felt so good to visit again with a friend after a long time because I know how delicious it is!
Let's go inside!
There was even a small waiting area inside.
There are many all-you-can-eat places near Konkuk University, but not many specializing in beef gopchang!
It's delicious and affordable, so there's honestly no reason not to come.
I tried to take pictures discreetly, avoiding other customers as much as possible.
To prevent the smell from getting on my clothes, I put my bag inside the chair.
Basic setting!
What's this? I wondered...
Oh, they put this stew on the burner.
I also took a picture of the menu on the utensil holder. Originally, there was water and a utensil holder on the table, but the owner came and put them on the chair, saying it would be more comfortable.
From that moment on, my friend and I whispered, "Wow, why is everyone so friendly here?"
Back to the introduction, it's best to grill the chives instead of eating them raw. You have to keep refilling them!
The sauce is also delicious... I actually asked for more sauce once.
Here's the menu! We ordered the all-you-can-eat for two, of course, along with a Coke Zero and two cream draft beers. Hehe.
Draft beer is 2+1 from 9 PM!
They lower the stew once it boils, using that Moomin coaster-like thing.
An apron is a must when eating gopchang!
Ah... I can't ignore this Deok-hoo rice. It also contributes to making this a great restaurant in Hwayang-dong. Because it tastes different when you eat it plain versus when you eat it with gopchang. Since it's all-you-can-eat, eat it well and then cut the gopchang into small pieces and stir-fry it with the chives. It's the best!
First, they put up the first plate. What's so great is that they keep adding mushrooms and onions! We asked for it without onions, though.

They even prepare it for you and take care of the grilling, including adjusting the heat. I was so grateful for the attentive service... Thanks to them, I enjoyed the food so much!
My friend's cream draft beer arrived. He drank it so refreshingly.
Nah, Coke is the best.
Doesn't it look delicious? Haha. I actually ate it just yesterday, but I think I'll have to go again soon...
Aren't the mushrooms perfectly cooked? I took a picture to show them off.

They grilled another plate for us.
Even though it's an all-you-can-eat place near Konkuk University, it can be a little embarrassing to keep asking for more (that's how I feel).
But here at Kim Deok-hoo's Gopchang, the owner keeps asking, "Would you like more?" They're so friendly that I was honestly a bit touched.
They cut and lightly grill it for us every time, and check the grill in between.
They always ask, "Would you like more chives?" "Would you like more mushrooms?" I had a great experience at this gopchang restaurant near Konkuk University.
I like to eat my gopchang crispy like this (like in mukbangs), so I ate it deliciously. They said it's pre-cooked, so you don't have to overcook it like this.
Hmm... how many refills was this? Hehe. If you're looking for a good restaurant in Hwayang-dong, this place is great.
My friend ordered another beer. I'm really going to eat beef gopchang near Konkuk University again soon. It makes my mouth water!
Yep, another order of gopchang!
Don't forget to eat it with chives!

The gopchang is cooked to perfection. Just the way I like it.
Of course, I didn't leave any behind;; I devoured the gopchang and came home humming with my friend.
It's delicious, as befitting a great restaurant in Hwayang-dong, but I think it's the friendliest of all the all-you-can-eat places near Konkuk University.
I might upload another post saying I ate gopchang near Konkuk University again soon;; I ate well!
