Inside the Satisfying Flavors of Hansang Charim Kodari Restaurant

On a freezing winter day when even Seokchon Lake was icing over, I headed to Jamsil to enjoy a comforting Korean meal.
Hansang Charim Kodari Restaurant is known for its spicy braised pollack and generous lunch specials that offer impressive value.
This post shares my honest dining experience, from location and pricing to flavors that made me want to come back again.
A Warm Korean Meal on a Cold Day in Jamsil
It was so cold that I could actually see ice forming on Seokchon Lake.
Even so, it felt great to visit Jamsil after a long time, especially with one clear goal in mind: spicy braised pollack.
This kind of weather makes warm, hearty Korean food feel even more satisfying.
Why Hansang Charim Kodari Is So Popular
The lunch specials here are known for being incredibly cost-effective.
Dolsot rice is priced at 15,000 won per person, while braised pollack with rice comes in at 13,000 won.
Considering the quality and portion size, it easily ranks among the best value restaurants in the Jamsil area.
Location, Access, and Parking Convenience
The restaurant is located on the second floor at 32, Baekjegobun-ro 45-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul.
It’s about a 430-meter walk from Exit 1 of Songpanaru Station, making it fairly easy to reach on foot.
Operating hours are from 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM, with a break time between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
Although it’s on the second floor, clear signage on the first floor made it easy to find.
The building also offers parking, which is a big plus in the busy Jamsil area.
Reservation Tips and Ordering the Lunch Special
Advance reservations are highly recommended.
Even during a weekday late lunch hour, the restaurant was quite busy, which really showed how popular it is.
Booking through Naver Place is the easiest way to secure a table.
We ordered the weekday lunch special with braised pollack and nutritious dolsot rice, plus extra seasoned vegetables for two.
The lunch special is available until 3 PM on weekdays, with different pricing on weekends and evenings.
Friendly Service and Comforting Side Dishes
The staff and owner were genuinely friendly, which made the meal even more enjoyable.
Side dishes are self-served, so you can refill them freely.
After a chilly walk from Jamsil Station, the warm bean sprout soup was especially comforting and helped wake up my appetite.
Flavors That Make You Want to Return
The dolsot rice had a perfect texture, and the addition of sweet potatoes was a pleasant surprise.
Taking a spoonful of rice, topping it with spicy braised pollack, and following it with bean sprout soup was deeply satisfying.
The seasoning of the pollack was outstanding, easily making this my top pick for this dish.
My parents also enjoyed the meal very much, which says a lot.
A Great Value Korean Restaurant in Jamsil
If you’re looking for a satisfying Korean meal in Jamsil, this restaurant is an easy recommendation.
As someone who often eats salads at the office cafeteria, I was happy to find a similar vegetable salad here and refilled it.
With rising prices everywhere, enjoying such a hearty and well-balanced meal for two at this price feels special.
After a warm, clean, and comforting Korean meal, it almost feels like a health boost.
I enjoyed it so much that I would definitely come back with friends the next time I’m in Jamsil.
