Hiking Up Namsan Mountain: Views, Sunset, and Giant Pork Cutlet!

![]()
I went to Namsan Mountain for a hike after a long time. It was a good way to get some exercise!
I dressed comfortably and got off at Myeongdong Station.
I found my way to Namsan and started hiking up.
Looking at the SK building, I thought it was a pretty awesome place.
I also saw and took pictures of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education building and the Seoul City Wall Museum.
And then, the 63 Building!
The weather was so nice with the Namsan Tower view!
The sky was beautiful.
The sunset was so gorgeous that I ended up taking a ton of pictures.
The clouds were amazing too.
Finally, I arrived at Namsan Tower!
Even though it was around 7 PM, the day was still very long.
One more time, I took some panorama views from the top.
I don't know why I took pictures of Hotel Shilla and SK again, haha.
Mountain view.

Cheongwadae (Blue House) view.

I took so many pictures of the sunset.
But it was really pretty.
This must have been the view on the opposite side of the sunset.

Lotte Tower view.
That Lotte Tower that YS said she could even see from LA is always visible, haha.
Around 7:30 PM, the sight of the sun turning bright red was amazing.
Close-up shot of the red sun.
The sun was almost completely down, so I figured I should start heading down.

Grand Hyatt view, haha.
Actually, I had no idea I'd be going there so soon after this.
This isn't Namsan Tower, but it looks like a transmission tower.
It looked like the Eiffel Tower, so I took a picture of it.

I looked around inside the tower, but it was taken over by LG.
By the time I finished looking around, the sun had completely set.
I took a ton of pictures while coming down.
I wondered what that was and took a picture.

National Assembly Building at night.
The Parc.1 Tower is always eye-catching.
Pagoda.

S23U at night.
S25U at night.
Night mode seems to take pretty good pictures.
I've been to Namsan several times, but I've never actually eaten Wang Donkatsu (giant pork cutlet) there, so I tried it this time.

I ordered one Namsan Wang Donkatsu and one Spicy Wang Donkatsu.
I'm glad I didn't order the spicy one because I'm not good with spicy food.
It was pretty spicy.

I was expecting a thin, Western-style pork cutlet, but it wasn't that style; it was a bit thicker.
More than that, the soup here was amazing.
The soup was delicious.
To help with digestion, I went to Cheonggyecheon Stream and took a picture of the cranes.

As I walked, I ended up walking all the way to Dongdaemun.
I found a stray cat.

After looking around, I took the subway home from Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station (DDP Station?).
But without thinking, I got on the train going towards Dongdaemun.
I realized it at Hyehwa and went back the other way, haha.
I thought it was going towards Dongdaemun because I came from the Dongdaemun area.
Hit 20,000 steps! Proud.

I'd never had Namsan Wang Donkatsu at Namsan, so I finally tried it.
I thought it was a thinner style cutlet, but it was thicker than I thought it would be.
But the soup here was the real deal.
The soup was delicious!
To digest, I went to Cheonggyecheon and took pictures of the cranes.
Walking along, I ended up near Dongdaemun.
I found a stray cat!
After looking around, I took the subway home from Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station (DDP Station?).
I didn't think and hopped on the train towards Dongdaemun.
Realized my mistake at Hyehwa and switched trains, haha.
I assumed it was towards Dongdaemun since I came from that direction.
Reached 20,000 steps! Feeling accomplished.
