Glory Woks: A Trendy Chinese Restaurant Near Sangdong Station

Hello, this is Econova!
Yesterday, I visited Glory Woks, a Chinese restaurant near Sangdong Station.
At first glance, the exterior looks more like a cafe or sandwich shop, making it hard to believe it's a Chinese restaurant.
But once inside, I found a stylish and new Chinese dining experience.
Glory Woks Sangdong Branch
Address: 1st Floor, 115 Gilju-ro, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do

If you visit after 5 PM, you can enjoy soju/beer for ₩2,000, which is a great tip for dinner goers!
The restaurant wasn't as spacious as I expected, but the tables were well-arranged, mainly for groups of four.
I couldn't take pictures because it was crowded, but thanks to the wood and white tones in the interior design, it didn't have the typical heavy atmosphere of a Chinese restaurant.
Instead, it felt more like a casual cafe.
A self-service bar was set up on one side, offering basic side dishes like pickled radish and Jjajang sauce, as well as plates, scissors, and tongs.
Even better, rice is unlimited! You can help yourself to as much as you want from the rice cooker.
Glory Woks Sangdong Branch Menu
The menu mainly featured Jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), with Garlic Tangsuyuk appearing to be their signature dish.
Dishes like Yurinki (fried chicken with chili sauce), and Gganpunggi (stir-fried chicken with chili garlic sauce), and chili shrimp weren't too expensive either!
So, I ordered Cream Shrimp (₩25,000) and Seafood Jjamppong (₩10,000).
I was really looking forward to the Cream Shrimp since it had been a while since I last had it! ><
The basic side dishes were pickled radish and Jjajang sauce.

The Cream Shrimp came out first.
There were a whopping seven large shrimp, each full and plump, making them a joy to chew.
The sauce was a sweet and smooth cream sauce, but it wasn't greasy and complemented the savory flavor of the shrimp perfectly.
The crispy batter soaked in the sauce, while the flesh remained firm and chewy, creating a very satisfying texture.
Cream shrimp can often be too rich, but this one was clean and not at all greasy, perfectly complementing the Jjamppong.

Can you see how plump the shrimp is...?
I want to eat it again...ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

The Seafood Jjamppong was truly packed with seafood.
It included squid, mussels, and even finely chopped octopus legs, raising my expectations even before I tasted the broth.
The broth wasn't particularly spicy but had a clean and subtly spicy flavor.
I could strongly taste the refreshing flavor from the seafood.
The noodles were slightly thicker than typical Jjamppong noodles, with a chewy and springy texture that paired well with the broth.
Most of all, every spoonful brought a new piece of seafood, making it fun to eat.
It would have been even better to eat the rice with the broth, but the portion was so generous that I couldn't finish it all.

Many restaurants don't clean the mussels properly, so I usually avoid them when eating out, but as you can see in the picture, all the seafood was handled very cleanly.
You know how hard it is to find places like this, right? ㅠㅠ
Thanks to that, I could eat all the seafood with peace of mind!
They give you condensed milk flower bread if you leave a Naver receipt review, so make sure to do it if you go!
I was in a hurry, so I left quickly, but I'll definitely do it next time.
Among the dishes I didn't get to try, I'm most curious about the Chinese Cold Noodles and Garlic Tangsuyuk.
In the summer, I always crave ice-cold noodles, right?
I need to come back and try it before summer ends ㅠㅠ
I already saw someone order the Garlic Tangsuyuk at another table, and the crispy-fried visual looked so delicious.
Next time I visit, I'll definitely try the Garlic Tangsuyuk and Chinese Cold Noodles....☆
If you're looking for a clean and trendy Chinese restaurant in Sangdong, I highly recommend 'Glory Woks'!
