I was planning to visit a famous restaurant in Mokpo and Sinan, but ended up at Ginza Seafood Restaurant, where the table was set so lavishly it nearly buckled under the weight.

This is a review of Ginza Seafood Restaurant, a Mokpo & Sinan 맛집 (delicious restaurant) that truly delivered on both composition and taste, with freshness and abundance.

The last time I visited Mokpo, a local friend recommended this restaurant. Each dish was absolutely amazing!


1. Location & Address Information

The place I visited was Ginza Seafood Restaurant. It's quite large and has been famous among locals and tourists for a long time, so I expected a wait. I arrived early to have dinner a bit earlier than usual.

The restaurant was quite large, which raised my expectations. The operating hours are from 11 AM to 11:30 PM, so you can visit at your leisure.

There was a photo in front of the restaurant boasting a table full of food. It had been featured on TV several times, so I immediately understood why it was so famous. They offer a variety of course menus, including live fish sashimi, tuna sashimi, and assorted sashimi.

The fact that you can enjoy an ocean view while dining, as the restaurant is right by the sea, was also a big plus. The restaurant itself is very spacious with many tables, making it perfect for group gatherings or company dinners.

This Mokpo 맛집 has been in the same location for a long time. They even have blankets and baby chairs, showing their consideration for customers. It seems that popular restaurants always have great service.


2. A Table Full of Food

After taking a seat, I looked at the menu. We ordered the Special Set, which the owner recommended, and they set up a truly abundant table that looked like it could break under the weight.

3. Seafood Platter

This is the seafood platter, one of the main attractions of the day. They generously serve fresh seafood as if it were just caught from the sea, making me confident that this place is worth waiting for.

Everything felt very neatly prepared. I could visually confirm the freshness of each seafood item, which made my mouth water.

I picked up a sea cucumber and put it in my mouth. The crunchy texture and rich sea flavor flowed out. It was the taste that only fresh ingredients can deliver.


4. Live Fish Sashimi

The live fish sashimi was sliced very thickly, so I enjoyed the happiness of having my mouth full. Just by eating the sashimi, I had to admit that this was a local Mokpo 맛집.

The slices of sashimi were quite large. The soft and chewy texture that clung to my tongue and the sweet fish juice greatly stimulated my taste buds, making it hard to stop using my chopsticks.

Personally, I like to dip sashimi in gochujang (Korean chili paste). The addition of the spicy and sour taste enhanced the flavor, making me feel like I could eat it forever.

However, the sashimi was so fresh and of such high quality that it was excellent even with just radish sprouts and soy sauce. The clean and distinct flavor made my eyes widen as soon as I ate it.

Moreover, they gave me plenty of fin meat. The crunchy texture and the savory, rich oil that flowed out as I chewed made me give it a thumbs up.


5. Cypress Steamed Seafood

The steamed scallops had no fishy smell at all, and the sweet taste of the scallops was fully conveyed. I was impressed because it tasted different from ordinary steamed dishes, perhaps because it was cooked with the owner's special recipe.

In addition, the cypress steamed seafood contained an enormous amount of lobster, octopus, and abalone, which made my eyes widen. The octopus was moist with juice, and the aroma and taste were artistic.

They cut everything for easy eating. I was touched by the friendly service and focused on my meal as if to repay them.

The plump scallop meat was very sweet and rich in savory flavor. Even when I added a lot of gochujang, the presence of the scallop was still strong, making it very enjoyable to eat.

This is the visual of the mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) that I additionally ordered. The spicy and refreshing seasoning blended well with the various seafood and vegetables, allowing me to enjoy a taste that exceeded my expectations.

When my mouth felt a little greasy, a spoonful of mulhoe seemed to cleanse it all away. The seafood in the mulhoe also had no fishy smell and boasted a savory taste, which was satisfying.


6. Spicy Fish Stew (Maeuntang)

Lastly, I tried the maeuntang. It was packed with ingredients, especially the thick pieces of fish meat. The spicy and refreshing broth was excellent and had a deep flavor.

A shot of soju was, as expected, a perfect match. The owner is very generous, and they pay a lot of attention to the quality of the ingredients, so I enjoyed a happy meal with a feeling of being properly treated. I admitted that it was a place worth waiting in line for. From now on, I will definitely visit this place whenever I go to Mokpo.
