Hello!

I tried Pyongyang cold noodles for the very first time.

This place is a well-established restaurant,

so I decided to visit, knowing I couldn't go wrong.

The parking space is quite large,

making it easy to visit. The restaurant is also conveniently located for public transportation.

I came for an early brunch, and thankfully,

the restaurant was big enough that I could be seated right away.

However, it seems there are times when you have to wait.

There was even a ticket dispenser for waiting.

They had a separate area where you could get warm broth, not just water.

I poured myself a cup and tried it, and it was absolutely fantastic.

Even after coming home, I kept thinking about the taste.

The restaurant had explanations about how to best enjoy cold noodles and the benefits of buckwheat, since Pyongyang cold noodles are made with it.

I learned that eating the egg first before the noodles protects your stomach lining, and there's a reason why they add radish, mustard, and vinegar.

Jangan Myeonok is already widely known as a great restaurant in Anseong, and now I see why.

The dishes and broth are all 자랑 (pride) of Jangan Myeonok!

The broth is even good for dieting, which I noticed now… I regret not drinking another cup.

The seating area is spacious, so I sat where I wanted. They also sell side dishes, not just cold noodles.

I felt like just having noodles wasn't enough, so I ordered a *bindaetteok* (mung bean pancake) as well.

All the cold noodles were the same price: ₩11,000!

I usually prefer spicy noodles, so I ordered one *bibim* (spicy) and one *mul* (water) cold noodle.

Since it was my first time trying North Korean-style cold noodles, I asked about the difference between Hamheung and Pyongyang cold noodles.

They said that Pyongyang cold noodles use buckwheat noodles, while Hamheung cold noodles use potato starch noodles!

I wanted to try buckwheat noodles, so I ended up ordering the Pyongyang noodles.

While looking around the restaurant, the *bindaetteok* came out almost immediately after ordering…

감동적인 장면

What a treat! Can you see the visual of this *bindaetteok*?

It was so delicious!

The texture was crispy, and my partner said it was like a potato pancake.

It had a really savory flavor. I ate half of it before the noodles even came out.

I couldn't resist… the smell and taste were amazing. Definitely order it as a side dish!

소중한 기억

Finally, I tasted Pyongyang *mul* cold noodles!

The taste was really different from the cold noodles I usually eat.

It was somewhat bland, yet subtle and charming. The cold broth… I really thought I made the right choice.

I think I'm falling for Pyongyang cold noodles.

환상적인 장면

Now, I tried the *bibim* cold noodles, which came with chilled broth.

I ate the *bibim* noodles and drank the broth separately… The taste was fantastic.

The *bibim* noodles were similar to Korean-style cold noodles, probably because the sauce was rich.

But the broth was so good that I was savoring it, but my partner kept stealing it!

Ugh, but it wasn't off-putting at all. I actually preferred the soft noodles of the Pyongyang cold noodles over the chewy regular noodles.

신비로운 모습

A video of mixing the noodles deliciously… Watching this makes my appetite come back.

꿈같은 순간

The combination of *bindaetteok* + Pyongyang cold noodles is the best!

I even want to visit Jangan Myeonok again. There's a reason why it's been around for so long.

That's it for my review. Have a cool and healthy rest of the summer!
