After hearing countless praises from friends, my curiosity led me to visit this hot spot in Aewol, Jeju.

It felt a bit awkward to go alone to such a popular restaurant, so I quickly gathered my friends and set off.

Everyone was worried about parking on the way there, but upon arrival, we found a spacious parking lot that eased our minds.

1. Galchi Bada Aewol

Address: 15-1 Aewol-ro, Aewol-eup, Jeju

Operating Hours: Daily 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM

Menu: Boneless Galchi Stew, Whole Grilled Galchi 4-person set for 139,000 KRW

As soon as we entered, the high ceiling and large glass walls opened up the space, letting in a warm, sunny atmosphere that felt like we were dining on an outdoor terrace.

While settling in, I noticed a corner display of shiny yellow snacks – Jeju apple mango jelly. I promised myself to get one after the meal.

At our table, I was delighted to see a notice that if we left a review, we could get that jelly for free! I couldn't resist participating before our food arrived.

As I read through the menu, I was excited by the variety. With plenty of us, we decided to order a set menu to enjoy a bit of everything.

Our main dish, the boneless galchi stew, arrived, and the vibrant red sauce was incredibly appetizing. Without bones to deal with, it looked so convenient.

In the middle of the stew was a large piece of octopus, which I cut into bite-sized pieces. The texture was wonderfully firm and fresh.

As I lifted a piece of the perfectly cooked fish and dipped it into the rich broth, the spicy-sweet flavor enveloped my palate. Each bite burst with deep flavors.

The hidden gem of this dish was the seasoned radish at the bottom, which absorbed the flavors and was surprisingly tender.

Next, we enjoyed the grilled galchi, which smelled heavenly and was easy to eat as it was perfectly prepared. The skin was crispy, while the flesh remained moist, making it a delightful experience.

The thick, succulent flesh was impressive, bursting with light juices with each bite, showcasing the quality of the ingredients.

Combining the grilled fish with the chewy seaweed rice was a treat, as the textures danced in my mouth.

We also enjoyed various side dishes, all neatly presented and seasoned just right to enhance our appetites.

Especially noteworthy was the chewy squid jeotgal, which had a perfect balance of salty and spicy flavors.

Kimchi is a must on a Korean table, and this one was crisp and refreshing, providing a nice cleanse after a rich meal.

We concluded our meal with a rich abalone seaweed soup, full of precious ingredients. The broth was thick and flavorful, truly comforting.

After finishing, we stepped outside, feeling satisfied. The cool breeze was perfect for a leisurely walk around the restaurant, enjoying delicious food and beautiful scenery.
