Discovering the Perfect Restaurant in Yeongdeungpo: A Delightful Experience at Yeongdeungpo Yeokjeon Pocha

After work, when you want to have a light drink with a friend, finding a place with a great atmosphere and delicious side dishes can be surprisingly challenging.
This time, I visited Yeongdeungpo Yeokjeon Pocha, and it was satisfying from start to finish.
The reputation of being a top restaurant in Yeongdeungpo is well-deserved.
As soon as I arrived, the retro exterior caught my eye.
The nostalgic sign and entrance made me feel like I had traveled back in time.
It felt special, perhaps because such an atmosphere is rare these days.
At night, when the lights come on, the exterior becomes even more charming.
It had a visual appeal that made me stop and wonder, and I noticed several people taking pictures in front of the entrance.
I also took a shot before heading inside.
Once inside, I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and comfortable it was.
I expected a cramped and noisy atmosphere typical of a pocha, but the table spacing was generous, and the warm lighting created a cozy vibe.
It was perfect for sitting down and chatting with a friend.
They had a tablet ordering system at the table.
I could browse the menu at my own pace without needing to call a staff member, which was incredibly convenient.
Even first-time visitors wouldn’t have trouble choosing from the menu, especially with the accompanying photos.
As a complimentary side dish, they served crispy macaroni snacks.
They were so tasty that I kept reaching for them even without any drinks.
It reminded me of the snacks I used to enjoy at street food stalls when I was a kid.
For our first order, we decided to go all out.
We got spicy tteokbokki, grilled beef ribs, charcoal grilled chicken feet, and a bottle of soju.
Seeing the table filled with side dishes already lifted my spirits.
The tteokbokki had a rich color and flavor, packed with meat, making it both savory and spicy.
The rice cakes were chewy and plentiful, perfect for sharing.
The taste was so good that I found myself savoring every drop of the broth.
The grilled chicken feet had a subtle smoky flavor, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
It wasn’t too spicy, making it a great dish for relieving stress.
A glass of soju seemed like the perfect accompaniment.
The grilled beef ribs were exquisite.
Served with a special sauce, the lightly seared beef was bursting with juices in my mouth.
My friend, who loves meat, gave it a thumbs up.
This dish is a must-try.
Next, we opted for lighter and refreshing dishes: beef tartare with cold soup, dried squid, and a refreshing draft beer.
The tartare and broth were both fresh, and the ice made it incredibly refreshing.
It was perfect for cleansing the palate.
The dried squid and fish were chewy and savory, with a flavor that made it hard to stop eating, even without drinks.
Especially with beer, it was a match made in heaven.
We also added beef tripe stew, completing the pocha experience.
The bubbling stew had a deep broth color, filled with tender tripe.
Taking a sip of the broth made me exclaim in delight.
The tripe was soft and not greasy, and the broth was spicy yet refreshing, making me want to keep sipping.
A shot of soju paired perfectly with it.
This dish could easily be considered the restaurant's signature.
We also ordered onion-fried chicken neck and sweet and spicy chicken, which were both impressive.
Despite being fried, they weren’t greasy at all.
The crispy texture kept me engaged without feeling bored.
The chicken neck was tender and mild, while the onion fritters were sweet and savory, creating a surprisingly good combination.
The sweet and spicy chicken was well-coated with a delicious sauce, retaining its signature crispy texture.
As soon as I took a bite, I craved beer.
This menu is especially recommended for fried food lovers.
The return of the onion-fried chicken neck was surprisingly addictive.
With the tender chicken neck and crispy onion fritters, it was light and enjoyable, making it perfect for snacking while drinking.
To wrap up, a glass of soju was in order.
Served chilled with ice, I was able to enjoy it until the end, and at just 3,900 won, it was easy to order several bottles.
While the drinks were great, each side dish truly left a lasting impression.
Yeongdeungpo Yeokjeon Pocha is not just a charming bar but a place where every dish is genuinely well-made, a true gem in Yeongdeungpo.
With a great atmosphere and spacious setting, it’s perfect for gatherings, whether it’s a company dinner, a friend’s meet-up, or a date.
