Before heading down to the train platforms at Seoul Station, you can find various shops selling lunch boxes and convenient meals. However, I was disappointed to find that Yongsan Station lacked such options.

One day, I noticed a new shop called "Paruj Bibimbap & Chicken" with the slogan "Youth Railway Specialized Lunch Box"! I decided to visit this Korean restaurant inside Yongsan Station, where you can quickly grab a meal before boarding your train.

Located on the third floor of Yongsan Station's waiting area, Paruj Bibimbap & Chicken is not in the I-Park Mall but right where you wait for your train. Its prominent location makes it likely that frequent visitors to Yongsan Station are already familiar with it.

As the name suggests, the main menu features bibimbap and chicken. They also offer cream shrimp and peanut bread!

Prices are reasonable, ranging from 6,000 to 7,000 won per serving, making it a great option for a quick meal.

When you order the chicken, it's neatly packaged in a green box, and they serve the same delicious cream shrimp you find at baseball stadiums.

The chicken comes in four flavors: fried, seasoned, soy sauce, and cheese, and you can mix and match them!

On a cold winter day, the warm peanut bread makes for a perfect snack to enjoy on the train. They even sell nostalgic corn pops, which remind me of my childhood!

Despite being a shop focused on quick meals, I was surprised by the variety they offered. I bought a selection of items to take home.

Note that this is a takeout-only establishment, so there are no dining seats available. To feel a bit like I was on a train journey, I took my food home!

Here’s what I ordered: Onion Fried Rice (Soy Sauce Flavor) for 7,500 won, Large Chicken (Mixed) for 12,000 won, and Cream Shrimp for 8,000 won.

As a takeout specialist, they ensured everything was securely packaged, allowing me to bring it home safely. I packed the cream shrimp, onion fried rice, and chicken.

When I opened the lid, I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portions for the price. Although the weight might not translate well in photos, it felt quite substantial when I carried it home.

The onion fried rice isn’t just plain rice topped with fried onions; it includes soy sauce marinated pork and onion fritters.

Even though the meat had cooled down a bit during transport, it was tender and flavorful without being tough or smelly. The seasoning was just right, allowing for a clean and light taste.

Designed as a meal that can be eaten on the train, it was odorless and easy to enjoy neatly. This is essential since you don't want smelly or messy food while dining on a train.

The boneless chicken was delightful! The pieces were perfectly sized for easy eating, and I chose half fried and half garlic soy flavor.

The batter was thin, and the chicken inside was very tender and juicy. The fried chicken was tasty, but the garlic soy sauce was particularly delicious!

The flavors of garlic and soy were well balanced, not overpowering or overly sweet, making it just right without being greasy.

Additionally, there were two large rice cakes included, adding a fun element to the meal!

The cream shrimp was surprisingly excellent, with six plump pieces coated in a creamy, slightly spicy garlic sauce.

The shrimp inside were substantial, and I was pleased to find they were not lacking in flavor, providing a delightful crunch.

At the bottom, there were shrimp chips, enhancing the shrimp flavor even more.

Honestly, I initially expected convenience over taste from a takeout lunch box at a train station, but the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. The generous portions made it a satisfying meal.

If you’re traveling by train, consider picking up a meal from Paruj Bibimbap & Chicken at Yongsan Station, where you can enjoy odorless lunch boxes that are perfect for train travel.
