Hello, this is Toast!

Today, I'm excited to introduce you to a local favorite Chinese restaurant in Ilsan...

πŸ“ Detailed Information

Address: 23, Wonil-ro, Ilsanseo-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do

Hours: Daily 11:00 - 21:00 (Break time: 16:00 - 17:00)

Parking: Not available

Restroom: Located outside

🍜 Menu

They offer both regular dishes and affordable set menus!

And if you order one dish per person, you get unlimited rice, and they'll even give you Jjamppong (spicy noodle soup) broth if you ask!!

The prices are incredibly reasonable these days, and the unlimited rice and Jjamppong broth are awesome.

I ordered:

Jajangmyeon (Black Bean Noodles) (7,000 KRW)

Chinese Cold Noodles (9,000 KRW)

Single Serving of Tangsuyuk (Sweet and Sour Pork) (10,000 KRW)

Three dishes for under 30,000 KRW... It's unbelievable.

Jajangmyeon (Black Bean Noodles) (7,000 KRW)

νŠΉλ³„ν•œ μˆœκ°„

The Jajangmyeon tastes exactly like the one I used to eat back in the day! It has peas on top, a rich black bean sauce, and the noodles are incredibly chewy!!!!

It's not like instant Jajang ramen; it's the real deal! The noodles are so, so chewy...

Chinese Cold Noodles (9,000 KRW)

νŠΉλ³„ν•œ μˆœκ°„

The Chinese Cold Noodles come with peanut sauce!

It contains shredded egg, carrots, cucumbers, and meat.

The noodles are like Jjolmyeon (chewy noodles), and the broth tastes like refreshing Dongchimi (radish water kimchi).

With the icy slush, it's perfect for summer!

Single Serving of Tangsuyuk (Sweet and Sour Pork) (10,000 KRW)

Now, for the highlight: the Tangsuyuk...

The Tangsuyuk was absolutely delicious! It had a thick, sweet white sauce and a crispy batter – the kind I haven't had in ages γ… γ… γ… γ… γ…

These days, you mostly find Chapssaltangsuyuk (glutinous rice sweet and sour pork) or Guobaorou (a similar northeastern Chinese dish), but this was the real classic Tangsuyuk. It was so good!

The shine is amazing...

And I was surprised while eating it, but the meat inside has two layers!!

I thought the Tangsuyuk wasn't thin at all and was actually quite thick, so I had to take a picture when I saw this γ…‹γ…‹γ…‹γ…‹γ…‹

If you go, you HAVE to try the Tangsuyuk!!!!

πŸ“ Inside

If you come a little further down the alley, you can find it immediately as its name is written largely!

λ”°λœ»ν•œ μΆ”μ–΅

It says "Chinese Restaurant" so you can't miss it γ…‹γ…‹γ…‹γ…‹γ…‹γ…‹γ…‹

And you can really feel the vibe of a great restaurant saying "We are really a Chinese restaurant!"

Actually, locals kept coming in wearing t-shirts, shorts, and slippers!

The seating is usually in tables for four!

In addition to tongs, ladles, and side dishes, you can use hair ties and scissors at the self-serve bar!

And they even have phone holders γ…‹γ…‹γ…‹γ…‹

ν–‰λ³΅ν•œ μ‹œκ°„

And what really made me feel like it was a genuine local hotspot was that if you add them as a KakaoTalk Plus Friend, you get 10 dumplings right away!!!!!

Not only KakaoTalk Plus Friend, but there are also Naver receipt reviews and Instagram hashtag events, and elementary, middle, high school, and university students can get a 1,000 KRW discount!

Elementary, middle, high school, and university students can get Jajangmyeon for 6,000 KRW at the Ilsan main branch of this Chinese restaurant.......

πŸ“ Overall Review

You can customize the amount of noodles and the spiciness of the Jjamppong, and you can also specify whether you want your Tangsuyuk with the sauce poured on or on the side!

They make the noodles fresh every day, let them ferment, and cook with fresh vegetables procured from the market that day.

Seeing locals constantly coming in, it seems like it's already a popular restaurant in the neighborhood, and it's easy to see why!!!

It's a very basic but delicious taste!

They say the Jajangmyeon recreates the taste of old memories, and it really is exactly the delicious Jajangmyeon flavor I used to eat, and the Tangsuyuk is really crispy, sweet, and so delicious.

I highly recommend going just to eat the Tangsuyuk, and I want to try the Jjamppong next time ><

And the prices are unbelievably reasonable, so I highly recommend it in terms of value for money!
