Minam Pocha, a renowned restaurant for Pohang's crab set, has been highly recommended by acquaintances whenever they visit Pohang.

This time, I had the opportunity to visit this crab set restaurant myself. The prices were quite reasonable, and the quality of the meal was impressive, allowing for a very satisfying dining experience overall.

1. Location & Address of Minam Pocha

The Minam Pocha I visited was conveniently located along our planned travel route. It wasn't far from Jukdo Market, making it easy to get to. Situated right in front of Yeongildae Beach, there was ample parking, making it comfortable to visit by car.

The restaurant occupied the first floor of a building with a fish tank and was right across from the beach, making it easy for first-time visitors to find. The layout was family-friendly, and the interior had a clean and refreshing atmosphere.

Having gained a reputation as a must-visit spot for crab sets, the restaurant often attracted groups of diners. The clientele varied from local residents to tourists, and the seating options included both tables and traditional floor seating, indicating thoughtful consideration for customer comfort.

There were also plenty of outdoor tables, creating a lively atmosphere typical of a pocha (Korean-style bar). Pictures of celebrities who have visited adorned the walls, adding a fun element while waiting for the food.

2. The Crab Set Menu

The restaurant offered a diverse menu, from single dishes to sets, providing a wide selection. As a first-time visitor, I was slightly unsure of what to choose, but the special set that allowed me to enjoy various dishes made ordering easier and less stressful. Each dish was generously portioned and beautifully arranged, instantly raising my expectations.

The side dishes and accompaniments were impressively presented, making them visually appealing and tempting to photograph. Most of the dishes had a homemade feel, which added to the satisfaction as they were served generously.

Especially noteworthy was the warm seaweed soup, which was hearty enough to finish a bowl quickly. The seasoning was spot on, and I was quite pleased overall. Typically, with many side dishes, at least one might not suit your taste, but here, all the ingredients were fresh and well-prepared, making it easy to enjoy a variety of flavors without hesitation.

Fresh shrimp were also served, and upon lifting the body, a savory aroma wafted out. The shrimp were packed with meat, providing a satisfying feeling just by looking at them.

The shrimp sauce was rich and flavorful, and each bite released a delightful sweet and savory taste that I truly enjoyed.

The main dishes arrived promptly, which was a pleasant surprise. The fresh ingredients were visually appealing, and I was excited to taste each item. The crab was neatly cleaned for easy eating, and the assorted sashimi included seasonal fish, allowing for a genuine taste of the freshest seafood.

3. Lobster Tail Sashimi

The lobster tail sashimi was visually stunning with its translucent, firm texture. As soon as I took a bite, the chewy and resilient texture was apparent, and the subtle sweetness that developed with each chew was truly captivating.

4. Steamed Crab

When the steamed crab arrived, its rich aroma immediately whetted everyone's appetite. The glossy surface and moist texture made it visually appealing, increasing anticipation.

5. Crab Fried Rice

The crab fried rice was visually striking, topped with seaweed flakes, enhancing the excitement before even tasting it. The grilled clams were also a must-try, as their tender meat offered a delightful flavor that lingered in the mouth.

6. Spicy Soup

The spicy soup was well-cooked, resulting in tender fish meat. The refreshing broth was a perfect accompaniment to the meal.

Overall, Minam Pocha specializes in seafood dishes, and the quality of their signature items like sashimi and crab was impressive. The additional dishes, which I initially considered extras, turned out to be highly satisfying, making me want to return on my next visit.
