Delicious Seafood Dining in Jeju

When my cousin visited Jeju, we pondered where to eat. Since we usually have meat, we decided to go for fish this time.
After some searching, I discovered a great restaurant along the Aewol coastal road, and its location was fantastic.
The parking was ample, and the exterior was clean, making a good first impression.
1. Galchi Bada Aewol
Address: 15-1 Aewol-ro, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju
Opening Hours: Daily 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM
Menu: Sliced Hairtail Stew, Whole Grilled Hairtail Set for 139,000 KRW (for 4 people)
Upon entering, I was mesmerized. The high ceiling and the sea view through the large glass windows created a serene atmosphere.
There were apple mango jellies stacked at the entrance, which turned out to be a promotional item. If you leave a review, you get a jelly as a gift. How could I resist?
While browsing the menu, I found a set that looked solid, so I decided to go with that.
The stew arrived bubbling in a hot pot, with a visual of red seasoning and steam rising. Who wouldn't salivate at this sight?
As I cut into the octopus hidden inside, I realized it was my first time seeing octopus in hairtail stew.
One bite, and the spiciness enveloped my tongue. The fish was easy to eat since it was boneless.
The seasoned vegetables were so tender that they made me automatically reach for more rice.
The grilled fish arrived alongside seaweed rice, glistening perfectly. When I touched the flesh, it effortlessly flaked off the bone.
The fish was thick and substantial, and I felt its weight as I picked it up with my chopsticks.
I placed a piece of grilled fish on top of the seaweed rice and savored it. The mild flavor of the restaurant’s dishes filled my mouth, making me close my eyes in delight. Whoever discovered this combination is a genius!
The side dishes were neatly arranged. Although there weren't many, none felt lacking.
I first topped my rice with some salted fish, which had a pleasantly savory taste. The kimchi was perfectly fermented, clean, and paired well with the stew.
The stir-fried fish cake was sweet and chewy, making it hard to resist.
The macaroni salad was delicious, likely due to its mayonnaise base. It was just my style.
The abalone butter grilled dish came with sauce, and the sizzling sound along with the buttery aroma made us reach for our phones to capture the moment.
The seaweed soup was generously filled with abalone, almost making it feel like abalone soup. The broth was clear and inviting, making me want to take a spoonful.
Once in my mouth, the richness enveloped me, and the texture of the abalone added to the warmth. It was truly the best.
My cousin asked how I found this place, and I jokingly said I always excel at finding great restaurants. We agreed to come back next time.
