Delicious Dakgalbi in Chuncheon: A Local's Pick at Uiam Dakgalbi
I received Chuncheon Love Gift Certificates at the Samaksan ticket booth and decided to use them for a late lunch. Since they can only be used in Chuncheon, I headed straight to Uiam Dakgalbi to spend them!

It's not far from the Deungseon Falls parking lot, so I stopped by for a combined lunch and dinner. The restaurant has a long-standing presence in the area, giving it a comfortable, established feel.
Walking up the stairs past a well-maintained garden, you'll find the restaurant.
This was around 5 PM, so it was quite peaceful. The parking lot is free and spacious.

This place also has an outdoor dining area. It was a larger dakgalbi restaurant than I expected.

When we entered, the staff put on their masks (they had taken them off) and kindly guided us to our seats. I appreciated that they seemed to be mindful of cleanliness.
The side dishes are simple.
Lettuce and perilla leaves for wrapping the dakgalbi, radish kimchi, ssamjang (soybean paste), raw garlic, and chili peppers.

The staff cooked the dakgalbi for us until it was ready to eat.
The dongchimi (radish water kimchi) was refreshing. The meat tasted fresh, not frozen, which was great.
The staff mentioned that if the seasoning was too mild, we should let them know. I thought that people accustomed to strong flavors might find it bland. However, it was perfect for us—not too strong, not too bland. We enjoyed it as it was.
The dakgalbi portions were generous—300g per person—so I felt quite full after eating at Uiam Dakgalbi.
Instead of trying the makguksu (buckwheat noodles), we opted for fried rice.
Just like with the dakgalbi, the staff cooked the fried rice for us.
The fried rice was well-seasoned and delicious. I was so full, but I managed to have a spoonful before heading home, patting my stomach with satisfaction.
Chuncheon is a great place for a day trip. Nearby, there's the Uiam Dam, Samaksan mountain trails, and Deungseon Falls, perfect for a stroll. And of course, there's Uiam Dakgalbi!
Dakgalbi focused on the freshness of the chicken. I enjoyed my meal.
