Seogwipo Restaurant: Black Pork in Jungmun, Jeju

A friend was visiting Jeju, and I wanted to treat them to a nice meal.

We decided to check out a popular restaurant called Byeoldonbyeol, known for its black pork.

Everyone praised not only the taste but also the beautiful atmosphere, so I was excited to visit.

Wow! This was my first time in such an emotional meat restaurant. The view was stunning from every angle, making the meal even more enjoyable.

1. Restaurant Information

Byeoldonbyeol is a romantic meat restaurant surrounded by tangerine orchards and palm trees. It has several locations, but we visited the Jungmun branch, which was close to where my friend was staying.

To explain the location more easily, it’s about a 5-7 minute drive from the Jungmun complex and not far from famous attractions like the Jusangjeolli Cliffs and Saekdal Beach, making it a perfect dining choice after sightseeing in Seogwipo.

The popularity of Byeoldonbyeol is impressive, and I contemplated making a reservation. However, I decided to walk in instead, thinking it would be more relaxed.

We didn’t have to wait long, and there were fun activities to keep us entertained while we waited. They were holding a stamp tour event in the tangerine garden, where successful missions earned gifts!

2. Impressive Scale and Stylish Interior

The interior of the restaurant is grand and beautifully decorated, with clean facilities that left me in awe as soon as I entered. All the seating is at high tables, and the open layout allows for a choice of separated areas with partitions.

Every seat offers a garden view, and the atmosphere changes dramatically depending on the time of day. Especially at sunset, the tangerine orchards are bathed in golden light, creating a romantic scene straight out of a fairy tale.

3. Extensive Menu and Unique Side Dishes

We ordered the limited-edition aged black pork belly and neck, along with different side dishes. We planned to clear all the items we ordered!

After placing our order, the side dishes were quickly set up. The quality was top-notch, served in elegant brass dishes with unique and flavorful options.

One standout was the seaweed salad served with tortillas and three special sauces, allowing us to enjoy the black pork in a fresh and innovative way.

4. Delicious Black Pork

The black pork itself is premium fresh meat, enhanced by a low-temperature aging process of 672 hours. The tender texture made it seem like it was melting in my mouth.

5. Satisfying One-Bowl Dishes

We also tried the large shrimp soup, which is available only until mid-December. It was perfect for warming up on a chilly day, with a rich and refreshing broth.

The soybean paste stew was thick and hearty, making it a perfect accompaniment to rice. The cold noodles served afterward were a refreshing finish, cleansing the palate beautifully.

The romantic atmosphere, fresh black pork raised in Jeju, and various customer conveniences make this restaurant a must-visit. I highly recommend stopping by!
