Chunryang Hoegwan: A Korean Dining Pub Perfect for Drinks (and More!)

Looking for a great place to grab a drink and some delicious food? Let me recommend Chunryang Hoegwan, a Korean dining pub! It's so good, one drink is never enough...
A few days ago, my friends and I were searching for a place to have some drinks and stumbled upon Chunryang Hoegwan near the University of Seoul.
The verdict?
We were completely satisfied with the atmosphere, the menu, and the service.
Especially the Yuk-Sasimi (Beef Tartare) and Daechang-Jeongol ( 곱창 hot pot) were so good, we wanted to order them again immediately!

Getting There:
The restaurant is located in the building right in front of the main gate of the University of Seoul.
Important Note!
Although it's located on the B1 floor, you can't get there from the first floor of the building. You need to walk around the side of the building to enter.

Inside the Restaurant:
The space is large and the tables are generously spaced apart. It's great for conversations and feels relatively private.
There are sofa seats, which were comfortable even after sitting for a long time.
The lighting and interior design were subtle, and the noise level was perfect for conversation.
Menu:
The menu is diverse. They have tuna dishes, Yuk-Sasimi, and fried dishes.
They also have a wide selection of Sake and Soju, satisfying those who enjoy Japanese alcohol!
What We Ordered:
Korean Beef Yuk-Sasimi (45,000 KRW)
Korean Beef Daechang-Jeongol (24,000 KRW)
Assorted Fried Foods (23,000 KRW)
Noodle Add-on for the Jeongol (5,000 KRW)
Soju (5,000 KRW per bottle)
Food Review:

Side Dishes:
The side dishes included seasoned seaweed stems, pickled radish, ginger, and pickled scallions.
The seasoned seaweed stems were savory and delicious, and I kept reaching for them before the main dishes arrived.
Yuk-Sasimi (45,000 KRW):
They use Korean beef. The thickly sliced beef melts softly in your mouth.
The freshness was top-notch, and the portion size was generous for three guys.
They also provided seaweed and wasabi, and the combination was perfect!
It was a great menu item for both drinking and dining.

Korean Beef Daechang-Jeongol (24,000 KRW) & Noodle Add-on (5,000 KRW):
This is a Daechang hot pot, often called Motsunabe.
It's filled with plenty of chives, Daechang, and various vegetables.
The broth was savory and rich, making it the perfect accompaniment to soju.

We added noodles to the pot, and they were chewy and delicious. They reheated the pot before serving the noodles, so we could enjoy it until the very end.

Assorted Fried Foods (23,000 KRW):
The assortment included oyster fries, shrimp fries, shiitake mushroom fries, and croquettes.
I don't eat shiitake mushrooms, so I only remember the oyster and shrimp fries (I was a little tipsy by this point, haha).
I remember that the batter was incredibly crispy. Yeah... you get the idea, right? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Actually, it came with a side salad, but I liked the salad so much, I only ate that from then on.
It was great to have something refreshing to balance out the greasiness. This is a real review, right? ㅋㅋㅋ

Soju - 9 Bottles (45,000 KRW):
Yeah... the three of us ended up drinking 9 bottles of Soju.
It felt like a real drinking session after a long time. lol
We enjoyed the food very much!

The Yuk-Sasimi was so fresh that I'll definitely order it again on my next visit.
The Korean Beef Daechang-Jeongol was delicious, but one of my friends can't handle spicy food, so next time I'll order a spicier hot pot.
