To celebrate Christmas Eve and my boyfriend’s birthday, we visited Soon, a well-loved brunch café in Cheongju known for its seasonal course menus.
During Christmas, Soon offers a special course that combines festive presentation with comforting flavors, all within a cozy space converted from a grandmother’s house.

A Christmas Visit to Soon in Cheongju
To mark both Christmas Eve and a birthday, we were looking for a place that felt special without being overwhelming.
Soon immediately felt right, especially because they offer a Christmas-only course menu during the holiday season.
Location, Reservations, and Basic Information
Soon is located in Sachang-dong, Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do.
Reservations can be made through Catch Table or Naver, and pets are welcome.
There is no dedicated parking, and the nearby alley is quite narrow, so public transportation or nearby parking is recommended.
Operating hours are daily from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM, with a break time from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
A Cozy Brunch Café Filled With Christmas Charm
Soon is a charming brunch café created by renovating a grandmother’s house.
During Christmas, the space is decorated adorably, making the moment you step inside feel festive and warm.
Entrance and Seating Notes
The main entrance is accessed via stairs next to the café sign.
There is also a glass door on the first floor, but it’s not recommended as the primary entrance.
About half of the tables are reservable, while the rest are kept for walk-in guests.
High chairs are available, making the space comfortable for families as well.
Outdoor Garden Views Even in Winter
Our table had a lovely view of the outdoor garden and a decorated tree.
While outdoor seating is mainly used outside of winter, the garden still adds warmth and color when viewed from indoors.
The Christmas Course Menu at Soon
The Christmas course menu was thoughtfully curated to feel festive without being heavy.
It included a Christmas wreath salad, a choice of main dish, rye bread, Soon’s Oldies steak, seafood vongole, and black pepper cheesecake.

The salad was beautifully presented in the shape of a wreath.
Arugula, brie cheese, strawberries, and cherry tomatoes came together in a light yet festive combination.
The seafood vongole was generous with clams, scallops, and mussels, paired perfectly with crispy rye bread.
The shrimp rosé pasta was neatly plated with seven shrimp and bright cherry tomatoes, making it visually satisfying.
A Memorable Finish With Dessert
The black pepper cheesecake was creamy and rich without being overwhelming.
The crumble base added texture, making it a memorable end to the meal.
