Chef's Choice: A Delicious Surprise at Sunsooljip Banju Izakaya in Hwangseong-dong

Hello, everyone! It's Minchu here.
The title might sound a little strange, but it's exactly what it is!
I'm talking about Sunsooljip Banju, an izakaya in Hwangseong-dong where the owner serves a 'chef's choice' set meal.
Here's my honest, self-funded review! ????

<Business Hours>
5:00 PM - 3:00 AM
<Last Order>
2:00 AM
Closed every Sunday
This place is located on the bar street near Hwangseong Jugong 2nd Apartment complex, between Yurim Wangsogeumgui and Geunbada Sashimi Restaurant.

You can see the interior from the outside, and doesn't the atmosphere look great? ~~?
They seem to write down the daily recommended menu on the entrance board. ◡̈
The interior was more spacious than I expected!
There were tables for four, counter seats, and even private rooms. ㅎㅎ
There's a restroom at the end of the hallway. ????
Each table is set with cutlery, tongs, small plates, tissues, and a bottle opener.

They offer a wide variety of dishes, from sashimi to soups, grilled dishes, and fried foods! Menu options include:
Chef's Choice Appetizer, Banju Set Meal, 'Anything' (Chef's Choice), Sashimi Platter, Tuna Platter, Flatfish Sashimi, Salmon Sashimi, Boiled Octopus, Yeonpotang (Small Octopus Soup), Fresh Monkfish Jiri (Clear Soup), Fresh Codfish Jiri, Assorted Oden Nabe (Hot Pot), Black Cod (Mero) Grill, Assorted Grill, Top Shell Grill, Shrimp Tempura, Assorted Tempura, Assorted Fries, Udon, and Seafood Ramen.

I was curious about the Chef's Choice Appetizer, but since there were only two of us, we ordered the "Anything" option for 30,000 won.
They also have a great selection of drinks, including sake, wine, draft beer, soju, bottled beer, highballs, and even non-alcoholic options. Hehe.
I'm a huge fan of Good Day soju, so I didn't really look at the drink menu closely, but they have Kelly draft beer! ????
I prefer Kelly among bottled beers, so Kelly draft beer... ㅠㅡㅠ
I'll definitely have to try it next time I visit.

They gave us these pretty soju glasses.
????????????????
First up was a refreshing and sweet salad. ????
Next came the dried pollack seaweed soup.
I hadn't had seaweed soup in a while, so it was really delicious.
The salmon sushi with a hint of smokiness was amazing! ???????? You can just eat it as is with the sauce.
The salmon was thick and tender, melting in my mouth. ㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ
If they had a separate sushi menu, I would have ordered it right away...!

And then this sashimi platter arrived! ????

They also had creamy monkfish liver and beautiful tuna slices ✨
Everyone knows it's delicious to eat it with seaweed, wasabi, and a dip in sesame oil, right? ㅎㅎ
The salmon was also amazing without any fishy taste.

Lastly, the steamed clams with plenty of garlic also arrived!!!
It was warm and easy to eat one by one.
Isn't this a good price for 30,000 won?
I'm going to try the Chef's Choice next time >.<
The staff was very friendly, so I left feeling great.
End of my honest, self-funded review.
