Chasing the Last of the Outdoor Vibes: Picnic, Bike Ride, and Street Food Adventures in Seoul

I was so looking forward to the rain stopping so I could finally hit up some outdoor restaurants and terrace cafes!

But is it for real that it's freezing cold as soon as the rain stops?! Seriously…;;

Take a deep breath…^^

Gotta enjoy the outdoors until the very last minute!

Here's a little introduction to an outdoor street food spot I managed to squeeze in despite the gloomy weather.

Out of the entire 7-day Chuseok holiday,

Wednesday, October 8th, was the ONLY sunny day!!!!

How did you all spend it???

I originally had so many plans for the Chuseok holiday:

Hiking, outdoor dining, terrace cafes, picnics, bike rides, solo cafes…

But it rained for 6 days straight,

So my plans were forcibly canceled ;;

So, for the one and only sunny Wednesday!!!

I was determined to have an amazing day.

I went to bed the night before with that resolution✌????

I decided to enjoy a picnic + bike ride + outdoor street food.

Packing a full day of fun into one!

????Olympic Park

First, we started with a picnic bright and early.

I originally planned to make kimbap and even bought cooked rice, but

I couldn't waste time making kimbap at home on a sunny day.

So I bought it from a kimbap shop nearbyㅋㅋㅋ

After eating, we lay down with full bellies.

Bike riding!

Your figure~ is like a purple light~????

I learned to ride a bike in June this year, and

I wanted to ride it in the fall, so

I practiced while sweating buckets in the summer.

Am I a little less of a beginner now???

Even just riding a bike on such a nice day makes me happy, but

Could the weather please just be nice for once?

????Jongno 3-ga Pocha (Street Food) Alley

Busy, busy modern society.

We came from Olympic Park to Jongno 3-ga…^^

I really, really love outdoor dining,

And it started in Euljiro 3-ga and Jongno 3-ga.

Originally, my company and house were close, so I went whenever I had a chance, but

Now they're both far away, so I thought if I didn't go today, this year

It wouldn't happen. And it's so famous these days, it's super hotㅠ

A picnic on a nice day followed by outdoor dining in Jongno 3-ga!

Perfectly satisfying my needs~~~

Actually, I was going to go to the famous Gaga Bar

Hanok terrace bar in Jongno 3-ga

(With a reservation, or open run)

But as soon as I saw the pocha, my eyes went crazy, right?

There are so many pochas here???

My partner is a restaurant connoisseur.

We came to the place he picked.

????Busan House

Busan House is in front of Exit 6 of Jongno 3-ga Station!

So I only looked at the spicy stir-fried squid at each restaurant.

Everywhere else it was ₩18,000, but here it was ₩25,000ㅠ

I hesitated because of the price,

But I decided to trust my partner's intuition.

Busan House is more expensive than other street food stalls!ㅠㅠ

My partner had a cold, so I was the only one who drank.

To catch a cold on this once-in-a-lifetime vacation…

Originally, he said he would drink with me today

(I really like drinking outside on good days)

He was holding out on taking medicine because he wanted to drink

But his condition got worse, so

I told him to take medicine…ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Sigh… I don't usually enjoy drinking alone…ㅠㅇㅠ

I usually go to places like this for the atmosphere,

So I don't really expect much from the food.

I've never had particularly good food at Jongno 3-ga pochas.

But the food at Busan House is good!!!!

As expected of my partner's intuition….

When I asked him how he knew, he said he could feel the neatness, cleanliness, and attention to detail from the organized tableware.

ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

I arrived at 4 PM,

And there was no one there then!

When I first sat at the outdoor table, they did say that I might have to move if it got crowded,

But as soon as the food came out, they told me to move almost immediately.

Since it was a group seat, I was okay with moving, right?

But they told me to go to the very end corner of the ㄷ-shaped seating in front of the cooking area..?

So I said I'd sit outside where I could see the street,

But they said it was all the same seat and told me to go inside.

If it's the same seat, why do I have to go inside..?ㅇㅅㅇ

I said it's the same seat, so I'll sit outside and sat down.

It was the first time in a long time I'd heard such commanding toneㅋㅋㅋㅋ

The seat I won~~✌????

And I ordered a pancake✌????

I knew what I was getting into when I came here.

I didn't come here expecting good service.

I just came because I like the atmosphere!

People who think service is important

Might be upsetㅠㅠㅎㅎ

I'm okay with anything if I'm in a good mood~~

By 5 PM, other places still had quite a few seats,

But this place was full.

Tips for Getting a Seat on Jongno Street Food Alley

Visit before 4 PM

Sigh… It wasn't tasty drinking alone,

So I only drank 2 bottles of beer..^ㅠ^

In this weather~ With this energy~

How can you not be in a good mood when you're drinking!

Sigh…

Come back, fall weather…!!!!!!!!!!
