Blossoming Happiness: Spicy Flavors at Boksa Kkot Pineun Jip

These days, each day seems to pass by so quickly.
It's during times like these that I feel the need for a warm meal to soothe my soul.
On my way home from work, I discovered a restaurant in Sanbon called Boksa Kkot Pineun Jip (복사꽃피는집), where the lights shone warmly.
And there, I encountered a menu that featured
Jjukkumi stir-fried with a smoky flavor.
Location & Menu
Name: Boksa Kkot Pineun Jip Gunpo Branch
Address: 1st floor, 211 Gunpo-ro, Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do
Hours: 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM (Break time: 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM)
This is the exterior of the restaurant.
Located along the road, seeing it on the way home makes you want to visit.
There are only a few parking spots on the left side of the restaurant,
but there's a large parking lot around the back of the building.
There's a space where you can enjoy tea after your meal, and you can enjoy various teas for free.
If you participate in the receipt review event, you can also enjoy delicious ice cream.
The restaurant's atmosphere is neat and stylish.
There are group seating options available, so many guests can enjoy the food.
I made a reservation in advance, so I was able to enter right away.
I recommend making a reservation in advance, especially on weekends.
You can order and call staff from the kiosk on the table.
I usually eat Jju, Chi, Pa (Jjukkumi, Cheese, Pasta), but
today I ordered the Jjukkumi Stir-fry Set.
With a diverse menu, it's a great place for families to dine out, satisfying people of all ages!
Today, I came with my husband,
but it's a place I often visit with my family,
so I'm familiar with the restaurant's atmosphere and the staff's friendly service.
The time it takes for the food to be prepared after ordering isn't long.
Boksa Kkot Pineun Jip's signature dish is Jjukkumi stir-fried with a smoky flavor.
It's a Jjukkumi dish that boasts a deep and rich flavor, grilled directly over a fire rather than using capsaicin.
There are also special menus like Jjuchi-pa (Jjukkumi + Cheese + Pasta).
I usually eat that, so today I ordered the Jjukkumi Stir-fry Set.
You can get side dishes, seaweed soup, and drinks from the self-service corner.
These are the basic side dishes.
My husband especially likes the side dishes here;
they're neat and go very well with the food.
This is the set menu composition.
Jjukkumi Stir-fry + Salad + Cold Cucumber Soup + Pizza (Choice of Gorgonzola or Pepperoni)
Even in the cooling month of November, the cold cucumber soup is refreshing with a slightly sweet and tangy taste.
The salad is really fresh and crisp.
A plate of Jjukkumi stir-fry placed on the table.
My eyes were drawn to the sizzling sound.
Smoke rising from the glossy sauce,
filled with the deep aroma of Jjukkumi grilled over a direct fire.
The spicy but sweet sauce permeates the Jjukkumi's flesh,
and with each bite, the smoky flavor and umami explode in your mouth.
It's a spicy dish, but not overly stimulating,
and it was a warm spiciness that seemed to comfort me, saying, 'You worked hard today, didn't you?'
A perfect meal that ends with bibimbap.
Rice is a must with Boksa Kkot Pineun Jip's Jjukkumi Stir-fry Set.
After eating some of the Jjukkumi,
add bean sprouts, lettuce, sesame oil, and rice to the Jjukkumi stir-fry and mix it all together.
Scoop the Jjukkumi onto the rice on the hot plate and mix it,
and the moment you take a bite of the smoky Jjukkumi,
you won't think of anything else.
The spicy sauce, bean sprouts, sesame oil, and lettuce combine
to fill your mouth with a savory smoky flavor with every spoonful.
That's when I realized
that this isn't just 'spicy food,'
but 'a warm bowl' that melts away a tiring day.
When your mouth is full of spiciness,
eating it with the prepared seaweed soup
is all you need.
Boksa Kkot Pineun Jip in Sanbon is a seaweed soup 맛집 (delicious restaurant).
It tastes a little richer than the seaweed soup you can commonly find in restaurants.
It doesn't seem to have any meat in it,
but the deep flavor makes me want to learn the secret recipe every time I eat it.
Neat side dishes and a warm space.
Neat side dishes were quietly placed on the table.
Crunchy seasoned bean sprouts, tofu, and young radish kimchi.
Between the spiciness of the Jjukkumi,
I really liked this simple combination that cleansed my palate.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was also cozy.
The sizzling sound under the sunset-colored lighting,
and even the laughter from the next table felt warm on that night.
My husband is very old-fashioned,
and when the kids aren't around, he orders cheese pizza or pepperoni pizza,
so today, since the kids weren't here,
he ordered pepperoni pizza.
He says it's a taste of nostalgia.
It was too much for the two of us to eat,
so we packed the pizza to go.
Relaxation in spiciness, Boksa Kkot Pineun Jip.
When the day is overwhelming,
Boksa Kkot Pineun Jip's Jjukkumi Stir-fry Set
contained a small comfort within its spiciness.
The smoky flavor spreading in my mouth,
the sweetness in the spicy sauce,
and the fatigue of the day melting away with a spoonful of fried rice.
All those moments were so warm.
So this place wasn't just a place to eat,
but a place to find 'a meal that soothes your soul.'
For dessert, we ordered a warm Americano and peach iced tea.
After eating something spicy, the sweet peach iced tea for dessert
was perfect for my taste.
After dragging my tired body home from work,
how about Jjukkumi stir-fried with a smoky flavor at Boksa Kkot Pineun Jip in Sanbon?
I wish tomorrow was the weekend.
Thank you for the meal.
And I'll be back.
