Autumn 2025 Trip to Hiroshima with Mom

We are the first guests on the 6300th bus, heading to Incheon Airport.
The only downside of the morning flight is that the departure gates are hardly open, resulting in long waiting lines.
Upon arriving at the boarding gate located at the end of the airport, we notice that Hiroshima has significantly fewer travelers compared to Kansai and Fukuoka, making our trip less stressful. Our flight departs right on time without any delays!
Having registered for Visit Japan in advance, we pass through the immigration procedures smoothly.
After exiting the airport and walking a bit to the right, we find the bus stop heading to downtown Hiroshima. We purchase tickets at the ticket booth inside the building in front of the stop.
We board the bus at stop number 2 for Hiroshima Station, and the one-way ticket costs 1500 yen. Since our accommodation is about a 15-minute walk from Hiroshima Bus Center, we plan to get off at stop number 2.
Only a light rain falls on the second day, while the weather throughout the week is just right for traveling in Hiroshima.
With some time left before check-in, we leave our luggage and head out for lunch in the city.
We visit a cozy yet charming steak restaurant called Number 3 for their lunch menu.
Even during the weekday lunch hour, the restaurant is fully packed with no empty seats.
We order the Number 3 rice set (1280 yen) with a salad and onion soup set (500 yen), and a keema curry (1080 yen) with an onsen tamago (150 yen).
Although it is a high-end steak restaurant for dinner, they offer a value-for-money lunch menu, making it a popular spot for young people.
It's hard to get enough vegetables while traveling, so I make sure to eat them whenever I can. The portion is small, but the salad is fresh and the dressing is delicious!
The warm and sweet onion soup is also great.
True to its name, the steak is tender and tasty, cooked perfectly.
The sauce complements the meat without being overpowering. Even though I ordered the 1.5x portion, it would have been fine as the overall servings are quite small.
The keema curry is tasty, but it’s not a must-try in Hiroshima. It has a clean and light flavor, different from typical Japanese curry.
Number 3 fits well with the leisurely, clean, and quiet image of Hiroshima.
