A Unique Omakase Experience in Jeju: Andon Omakase Jeju Main Branch

This post is a subjective review written with partial support from the business.
While searching for omakase restaurants in Aewol, Jeju, I discovered Andon Omakase Jeju Main Branch, and I finally got to visit!
To be honest, when I think of Aewol restaurants, I usually only think of cafes with ocean views, but this time I wanted to enjoy a proper meal, so I chose this place.
The location is near Aewol Port, so it's easily accessible, and there's a parking lot right in front, making it convenient to drive. It's also within walking distance from the bus stop, so transportation is good.
They operate on a fixed time slot system every day with three time slots: 12:30 PM, 5:30 PM, and 7:30 PM. Reservations are essential. I went for the 7:30 PM slot, and the atmosphere was great, matching the summer evening sky.
Andon Omakase Jeju Main Branch had a slightly unique table arrangement compared to other omakase restaurants.
Usually, you sit facing each other, or the chef cooks right in front of you. But here, you sit in a row, all facing the same direction.
I went with my family, and with four of us sitting in a line, it felt like we were there to see a show.
To be honest, there wasn't much to see in front of us, and the view was just the back of the person in front of you, which was a little surprising. But you could see the meat grilling performance from afar during the second part of the course, so the layout wasn't completely incomprehensible.
Still, I found it most relaxing to eat while watching the evening sky.
There's a good reason why it's known as a great restaurant near Aewol Port.
The course consisted of a total of 8 courses, and the price was ₩59,000 per person.
From the first course, a dish expressing the shape of basalt rocks came out, clearly showing the Jeju concept. The visuals were so cute that I was busy taking pictures.
The second dish felt like Jeju black pork cutlets, and the presentation resembled Jeju basalt, which was very clever.
The third course was my favorite, the tenderloin steak. It was cooked sous vide, so it was incredibly tender and full of juice. I almost wanted to order a refill.
The Hallabong salad that followed had a strong sour taste, but it actually cleansed my palate before eating the meat, which was great.
After finishing the first part of the courses, the second part, where they grilled the meat, began in earnest.
In the second part, I was able to taste various cuts of black pork, and personally, I enjoyed them all.
However, my dad and younger sibling said that some cuts were a matter of personal preference.
Still, the taste of the meat itself was impeccable, and above all, I was satisfied with the well-organized course.
I was already full, but then kimchi stew came out at the end. I couldn't pass it up, so I ate it all, and it was amazing.
It was a bit salty, but it was so delicious when eaten with rice.
Overall, the flavors were on the stronger side, so it might be a little difficult for those who prefer blander food, but I enjoyed it.
The Hallabong yogurt sherbet that came as a finishing dessert was great because it completely cleansed my palate.
Honestly, I wanted to order more.
It was my mom's birthday, and I wanted to spend a unique time with my family. Thanks to Andon Omakase Jeju Main Branch, the atmosphere was great, and the food was well-organized, so I was satisfied.
If you're looking for omakase in Jeju, I highly recommend this place, which is familiar as a great restaurant in Aewol.
Considering the course composition and taste, the price is reasonable, and above all, it's near Aewol Port, so it's good for a walk after the meal.
