A Taste of the Sea at Masian Fisherman's House, Yeongjongdo

Today, craving the scent of the sea, I took a drive to Masian Beach near Yeongjongdo Island in Incheon.
Driving along the coast, I could hear the gentle sound of waves, and then the sign for 'Masian Fisherman's House' caught my eye.
The name itself felt so fresh that I went inside without hesitation!
It was autumn, the season for grilled jumbo shrimp, so I decided on the grilled jumbo shrimp (small) and seafood ramen instead of sashimi.
As soon as I opened the door, I thought, "Ah, this is the real sea!"
The interior was warm and filled with a wooden ambiance, with small fishing nets and seashells hanging from the ceiling.
There were decorations of drying fish and cute whale drawings on the walls, making it feel cozy.

What I especially loved was the ocean view from the side of the restaurant.
The waves sparkled in the breeze, and I could see airplanes taking off in the distance, filling the air with the Yeongjongdo vibe. We couldn't eat outside because it was raining... But next time, I'll definitely enjoy the food with the ocean view!^^

Finally, the star of the day arrived. Grilled jumbo shrimp (small) served sizzling on a hot plate!
The savory aroma rising from the golden-brown shells was enough to make my mouth water.

I carefully peeled a shrimp and took a bite. Wow… the flesh was so plump and the sweetness just exploded in my mouth!
As it's the season, the shrimp were especially meaty.
The white flesh just under the shell was thick and tender, and the more I chewed, the more intense the sweetness became.
Even with just a touch of salt, the savory flavor was alive, and dipping it in red pepper paste added a refreshing kick.
The heads were especially crispy and bursting with nutty flavor!
As soon as I put it in my mouth, the 'scent of the sea' filled the air, harmonizing the crispy texture with the savory aroma of oil.
I couldn't help but shout, "Just one more!" This was the taste of autumn happiness in Yeongjongdo.

When the lingering taste of the grilled shrimp was still present, the steaming hot seafood ramen arrived.
Inside the bowl, steam rising, were clams, mussels, and shrimp – all the sea friends were there!

The broth was a deep orange color, and the moment I took a sip, I thought, "This isn't ramen, it's seafood stew!"
The broth was cool and refreshing, with a deep seafood flavor and a hint of spiciness.
The noodles were chewy and elastic, a perfect match for the broth. The refreshing flavor from the mussels and clams was amazing. Above all, the subtle aroma of shrimp permeated the broth, giving it a 'seafood full course' feel that followed the grilled shrimp I had just eaten.

'Masian Fisherman's House' was truly a place that brought the sea to the table.
The shrimp were the epitome of freshness, and the plump, meaty flesh was incredibly sweet.
I was so impressed that I wondered, 'Were shrimp always this sweet?'
The seafood ramen was also the perfect way to finish the meal, with its rich and refreshing broth.
The staff were also kind enough to share tips on peeling shrimp, and the food came out quickly and was well-presented.
Above all, it was truly healing to eat while looking at the sea from the window.
After the meal, I took a walk along the Masian Beach promenade, feeling the breeze, and my stomach and heart were full.
If you are planning a trip to Yeongjongdo with the autumn breeze blowing,
I highly recommend trying the seasonal jumbo shrimp at 'Masian Fisherman's House'.
A bite of sweet grilled shrimp while looking at the sea is truly... the taste of happiness.

Highly recommend it!
