A Taste of Nostalgia: Haeundae's Ohbanjang, Still Serving Up Delicious Pork Skirt Meat After 10 Years!

Remembering Ohbanjang in Haeundae, a pork skirt meat (Galmaegisal) 맛집 (delicious restaurant) I visited 10 years ago!
This is a review of Haeundae's <Ohbanjang>, still a go-to place for Galmaegisal!
Back in my college days, <Ohbanjang> was a treat someone else had to buy. Haeundae Galmaegisal <Ohbanjang>... Memories resurfaced! lol
It's still impressively large and standing strong as a Haeundae favorite.
Location: 20, Gunam-ro 24beon-gil, Haeundae-gu, Busan (293m from Haeundae Station Exit 5)
Hours: 12 PM - 1 AM
Parking: Free dedicated parking
Finding a restaurant with parking in Haeundae is tough, but <Ohbanjang> has ample dedicated parking!
It felt like a local hidden gem, a place with a classic, old-school vibe.
From the entrance to the stairs leading to the second floor, there were so many celebrity autographs!
I spotted Choo Sung-hoon, Kim Woo-bin, and Park Seo-joon's signatures and had to snap pictures, lol.
Here's the menu for Haeundae Galmaegisal <Ohbanjang>.
Ah, the basic side dishes! Seasoned green onions, vegetable wraps, bean sprouts, kimchi, and more. Very neat.
This is Ohbanjang's signature steamed egg.
They use a custom-made grill plate where you can cook the steamed egg right on the grill. It was truly revolutionary 10 years ago!
(I don't know if they were the first, but it was the first time I saw it here).
Since this is a Galmaegisal 맛집, we ordered 2 servings of fresh Galmaegisal + 2 servings of marinated Galmaegisal.
The quality of the meat was incredibly fresh!
It tasted even better grilled over charcoal. It's a place where you can neatly grill bean sprouts, kimchi, and even the steamed egg.
Galmaegisal + white rice is a match made in heaven.
Both were delicious, but Fresh Galmaegisal >> Marinated Galmaegisal. Personally, I vastly prefer the fresh Galmaegisal.
Can't have meat without rice, so we ordered Doenjang Jjigae (soybean paste stew) + rice.
The Doenjang Jjigae had a thick, meaty broth, as if it was mixed with a bit of gochujang (Korean chili paste).
At Haeundae 맛집 <Ohbanjang>, they give you a fried egg on top of your rice as a service!
Giving away eggs is rare with today's prices... there's a reason why successful restaurants are successful!!!
Since it's summer, we also enjoyed the refreshing Iced Noodles (5,000 won) as a side dish.
Cleared the plates again today!!!
My brother-in-law and sister took me to this restaurant when they were dating. It was even more special that it's been around for over 10 years, and it was still delicious.
It's apparently famous for Busan travelers, there were so many foreigners.
This was a review of Haeundae Galmaegisal 맛집 <Ohbanjang> recommended by a Busan local.
