A Special Year-End Trip to Yeongdeok_02

As the year comes to a close, I wanted to spend some special time with my family.

We took a 1-night, 2-day trip to Yeongdeok, where we enjoyed a warm feast of snow crabs while gazing at the winter sea.

I really love snow crabs, and this time I wanted to find a reputable restaurant specializing in Yeongdeok snow crabs.

After much research and consideration, we made our choice.

December marks the beginning of snow crab season, and it's said that now is the perfect time to enjoy them.

Being able to savor fresh, meaty snow crabs comfortably in our room made this trip immensely satisfying.

1. The Perfect Accommodation and Dining Experience

We stayed at a guesthouse specializing in snow crabs.

It's designed with families in mind, offering a great structure and system.

Even without a reservation, you can enjoy snow crabs, making it popular as both a restaurant and accommodation.

We completed our reservation in advance to enjoy a leisurely stay.

Located in the original snow crab village, this area is known for having crabs that were once served at royal banquets.

It's very quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxation.

Compared to Ganggu Port, this area offers better prices and fresher crabs caught directly from the sea.

2. Freshness Guaranteed from the Aquarium

The reason this place is known as a Yeongdeok snow crab restaurant starts right at the aquarium.

When you go downstairs, you’ll find tanks filled with lively crabs, all plump and moving energetically.

You can reserve fresh Yeongdeok snow crabs, which the owner catches, and enjoy them while overlooking the Yeongdeok sea.

The owner personally takes out the crabs and washes them with clean water, which builds trust.

3. A Feast of Steamed Snow Crabs

After a short break in our room, the long-awaited snow crabs finally arrived.

They came on a large tray, red and steaming, and the whole family was in awe of the presentation.

Once we separated the legs and body, we could see the meat was packed full.

The moment we cracked open the legs, the white meat spilled out, offering a chewy yet moist texture that is truly satisfying.

4. Surprising Side Dishes

While we were more than satisfied with just the snow crabs, the recommended side dishes from the owner were excellent.

Among them, the scallop dish stood out, with a clean and chewy texture that paired perfectly with the crabs.

Another memorable dish was the seasoned flatfish salad, which had a slightly spicy seasoning that complemented the meal nicely.

5. A Final Sip of Broth

After enjoying the snow crabs, we finished with ramen.

The rich crab broth combined with spicy ramen was simply delightful.

Eating directly from the crab shell added a fun twist to the meal, relieving all travel fatigue.

This 1-night, 2-day family trip was a perfect blend of flavor and relaxation.

We enjoyed fresh, seasonal snow crabs in a private space, and the warm hospitality and carefully prepared dishes left us completely satisfied.

With cozy accommodations, a beautiful sea view, and the fun of selecting live crabs, we were able to enjoy everything right in our room.

Next winter, I believe we will return to this wonderful place again.
