Hello!

Don Soo Baek is already well-known as a delicious restaurant.

Today, I visited Don Soo Baek in Hongdae and had their signature *Dontaengban* (rich pork soup with rice). Here's my review!

Location: 168-3 Donggyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea

Getting There: 129 meters from Hongik University Station (Airport Railroad, Gyeongui-Jungang Line) Exit 8

Hours: 11:00 - 24:00

Closed from 9 PM on Sundays to 9 AM on Mondays

*Gukbap* (soup with rice) is Korean soul food.

Among them, *dwaeji gukbap* (pork soup with rice), served piping hot, is one of my favorite dishes!

It's been a while since I last had delicious *dwaeji gukbap* at Don Soo Baek in Hongdae.

I'm really looking forward to it!

I visited Don Soo Baek in Hongdae around dinner time. It was quite crowded, with a bit of a wait. About half of the customers were foreigners.

Happy Time

Don Soo Baek is a *gukbap* restaurant that's famous even among foreigners.

There were many foreigners dining with their luggage.

The window seats are exclusively for solo diners.

There were many people eating alone. Perfect for those looking for a lunch spot or a place to eat alone in Hongdae.

The *gukbap* was constantly coming out of the kitchen.

You order via tablet.

When the elderly people at the next table had difficulty, a kind employee helped them.

The Don Soo Baek set meal, which comes with sliced pork, looked delicious and plentiful.

Three basic seasonings!

Wow!

Bright Future

My favorite thin noodles were also served.

A true 맛집 (delicious restaurant) can be judged by its side dishes.

The fresh kimchi (*geotjeori*), seasoned chives, and radish kimchi (*kkakdugi*) were all very delicious.

Mysterious Appearance

I refilled them continuously at the clean self-service bar.

Green chili peppers are a must with *dwaeji gukbap*.

But these were super spicy *cheongyang* chili peppers!

So addictive!

Even though they were spicy, I kept reaching for them.

Finally, the *Dontaengban* arrived!

Fantastic Scene

It was filled with plenty of tender meat.

Add the seasoned chives, chopped *cheongyang* chili peppers, seasoning paste, and season with salted shrimp... It becomes amazing *dwaeji gukbap*.

Add pepper, the thin noodles that come with it, and mix in the rice.

Touching Scene

Ah, the fantastic *Dontaengban*.

It's good whether you eat it spicy or mild.

I ate it spicy.

Don Soo Baek in Hongdae.

You might go there to cure a hangover and end up having another drink.

Attractive Photo

It's a savory, rich broth!

Such delicious broth.

I really enjoyed this Korean soul food:
