A Soul Food Paradise: Delicious 'Gopchang' (Grilled Beef Intestines) in Magok!

This place is a haven for 'gopchang' lovers, the ultimate soul food for many! And even the guys can't resist it.
I recently visited a fantastic 'gopchang' restaurant in Magok!
What sets this place apart is the generous serving size: a whopping 300g of 'gopchang' instead of the usual 200g!
You'll definitely feel satisfied with the ample portions, and with unlimited ramen, it's an absolute steal!

Location:
Inside and Outside Balsan Hanwoo Myeong Gopchang, a Magok 'Gopchang' Restaurant:
Located on the first floor, it was easy to find!
Even though it was early, the place was already bustling!
The wall seating features sofa-style tables, while the center area has a 'pocha' (street food stall) vibe!
With a constant stream of customers, it's clear that this is a renowned 'gopchang' 맛집 in Magok!

Their 'jeongol' (hot pot) is also famous, but we were craving grilled 'gopchang' more!
We were initially just going to order 'gopchang,' but the owner recommended the 'makchang' (grilled pork intestines), saying it's exceptionally delicious!
So, we ordered:
1 portion of beef 'gopchang'
1 portion of beef 'makchang'
Let's Eat! Balsan Hanwoo Myeong Gopchang, a Magok 'Gopchang' Restaurant:
As soon as we ordered, the side dishes arrived in a flash!
Such speedy service! Haha!
This is the 'seonji-guk' (ox blood soup) that comes as a complimentary service!
It's filled with large chunks of 'seonji' and has a spicy kick, making it the perfect accompaniment to soju before the main dishes arrive!
It's the kind of flavor that makes you want to keep drinking!
The 'makchang,' 'gopchang,' and 'yeomtong' (beef heart) were served together!
I think the 'yeomtong' was a service!
What's more,
They also provide potatoes, onions, garlic, ginkgo nuts, mushrooms, and scallions!
It was great to be able to eat with the vegetables.
The 'yeomtong' was incredibly tender!
It practically melts in your mouth!
The 'makchang' was perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside!
Since the 'makchang' and 'yeomtong' are mostly cooked when they arrive, you can eat them right away!
It's rare to find a place that serves ginkgo nuts,
so I was happy to find them served with the dish.
There must have been over 10 pieces!
We grilled the remaining 'gopchang' to perfection!
And the 'buchu muchim' (chive salad) went right on the grill!
You can put the chives on the grill, or you can eat them raw!
The staff grilled the 'gopchang' for us!
It was filled with 'gop' (fat) and was incredibly savory!
When you're eating, you really start to crave alcohol!
A glass with every bite!
The drinks just keep flowing! Haha!
This place offers unlimited ramen!
A Han River-style ramen paradise!
They had three types of ramen:
Jjapaghetti Jjajulleng
Jin Ramen (spicy)
Buldak Bokkeummyeon (extremely spicy)
You can eat unlimited ramen!
I ate two bowls of ramen! Haha!
The Jjajulleng goes perfectly with kimchi!
And eating the Jin Ramen after the potentially greasy 'gopchang'
is like a reset button!
Balsan and Magok 'Gopchang' 맛집:
Unlimited ramen makes it a great value,
and because both the 'gopchang' and 'makchang' are delicious,
it's a great place for company dinners
and, thanks to the friendly owner,
I recommend it as a date spot!
