A Satisfying Family Meal at Gaeseong House Guri: A Delicious Korean Dining Experience

During the recent holiday, my family was deciding where to eat out. We ended up going to Gaeseong House in Guri, a place we often visit.

Actually, we usually cook at home a lot, but during holidays, preparing and cleaning up can be tiring.

So, this time we decided to eat out together, and Gaeseong House was our choice.

We've been there several times for family gatherings, so we trusted it. As expected, we were satisfied.

It's well-known as a great restaurant in Guri and near Donggureung Royal Tombs. After visiting, I understood why it's so popular.

Parking was convenient with space available right next to the restaurant on the left. When we went, there were still spots available, but if it's full, you can use the Donggureung parking lot.

They also offer free parking for a certain amount of time if you register when paying, which is good to know if you're driving.

We made a reservation and visited around 5 PM. When we first arrived, there were only a couple of other tables, so it was quiet. But soon, larger groups started arriving, and it quickly became bustling.

The interior space is clean and spacious, making it a good place for group gatherings.

The menu isn't extensive, but they definitely have key dishes they focus on.

They offer braised Pollack(cod) dishes, ribs, and a few fish dishes. We've been here several times and have tried most of the dishes.

This time, we ordered the Braised Pollack Ribs again, which we enjoyed the most previously.

Before the main dish arrived, the side dishes were served. While not numerous, each one was neatly prepared and delicious.

I prefer a selection of side dishes that complement the main dish well, rather than having many mediocre ones.

Finally, the Braised Pollack Ribs arrived. The seasoning was well-infused, making it perfect to eat with rice.

I'm a 'maepjil' (someone who can't handle spicy food), so it felt a bit spicy to me, but it was still addictively good.

It had that spicy and savory flavor that keeps you coming back for more.

Both the pollack and the ribs were so delicious that it was hard to decide which was better.

They both tasted so good, they melted in my mouth.

They also serve Dolsot rice (stone pot rice), which was a highlight.

Finishing with hot, scorched rice made me full and comfortable.

Ending the meal with 'Nurungtang'(scorched rice soup) made me feel it was a great dining experience.

Wrapping the ribs with the seaweed, bean sprouts, green chili peppers, and soy sauce that came as side dishes was pure happiness.

Overall, the food was a bit strong for my taste, but it was so addictive that I keep thinking about it.

The restaurant's cleanliness was impeccable, and the staff were friendly, so there were no inconveniences at all.

Most of all, my family all enjoyed the food, which made it an even better experience.

I can confidently recommend Gaeseong House Guri to those looking for restaurants near Donggureung or those considering a family gathering place in Guri.
