A Perfect Meal Near Jeju Airport

On the last day of my trip to Jeju, I wanted to enjoy a proper meal before heading to the airport. I started searching for restaurants near Jeju Airport and came across a place that serves a rich and flavorful black pork kimchi stew. I thought adding some crispy pork belly to the spicy stew would make for a perfect combination, so I immediately settled in without any hesitation.
The restaurant, Jeju Airport Geudae Geujib, is conveniently located just a stone's throw from the airport, making it an ideal stop at the start or end of your journey. I was quite satisfied with its location, which was completely stress-free.
Parking can be a concern when using a rental car, but this restaurant has a spacious parking lot right in front, which eased my worries. Such small conveniences are truly appreciated during a trip.
Across from the restaurant, a refreshing coastal road stretches out, making it a great spot to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Jeju while catching a breeze before or after your meal.
I ordered the black pork kimchi stew, one of the restaurant's signature dishes. As I waited for it to boil, the anticipation grew while I admired the array of side dishes that were served. The side dishes were neatly arranged in a comforting home-cooked style. The crispy seaweed's nutty aroma was appetizing, and the stir-fried anchovies had a delightful balance of salty and sweet flavors that made me crave a bowl of rice.
The seasoned bean sprouts were fresh and crunchy, perfectly complementing the stew without being overly salty. What impressed me the most was the unlimited supply of half-cooked fried eggs, which added a delicious richness when mixed with the rice or broth.
Finally, the kimchi stew arrived. The spicy and tangy aroma filled the air, and the bubbling stew was visually stunning. Large chunks of black pork were generously included, and the deep color of the meat hinted at its rich flavor. The pork was tender and soaked in the flavorful broth, making it incredibly delicious.
The broth itself was exceptional, with the pleasant acidity of the kimchi blending beautifully with the richness of the black pork. I also added some noodles, which were offered in unlimited quantities. The chewy noodles soaked up the rich broth, creating a delightful addition to the stew.
As I savored the stew, the setup for the pork belly began. The sizzling grill reignited my appetite. The marinated crab that accompanied it caught my eye with its deep color, promising to whet my appetite even before the meat was cooked.
The quality of the pork belly was outstanding, with distinct layers of fat and meat in a fresh pink hue. As soon as it hit the grill, the sound and aroma were mouthwatering. The staff grilled it perfectly, ensuring it was cooked to the best state, allowing me to relax and enjoy.
Each bite revealed a crispy exterior and juicy interior, with the sweetness of the fat and the savory flavor standing out. To wrap up the meal, I ordered the spicy cold noodles, which were a perfect choice. The refreshing broth was delightful, and the final highlight was the flying fish roe fried rice, which was a joy to eat. The warm, fluffy steamed eggs complemented all the dishes well, making my meal at Jeju Airport a memorable experience.
