A Perfect Lunch Spot for Hangover Recovery: Heigaok in Yangsan

After a night of drinking, finding a good place for lunch to recover is essential. I was craving something different from my usual meals, so I decided to try Heigaok, a well-known restaurant in Yangsan that serves delicious soup.
Located conveniently near my home, Heigaok was the perfect choice for a weekend outing. I had heard great things about their food, and it turned out to be just what I needed for a hangover remedy.
Heigaok is situated right across from Namyangsan Catholic Church, making it easy to find even if it’s your first visit. The ample parking space behind the building was a bonus, allowing for multiple cars to park comfortably.
We arrived at the right time and were seated immediately without any wait. The restaurant had a clean and cozy atmosphere that I appreciated.
As the lunch rush began, my friend and I decided to order the most popular dishes: clear beef soup and milky beef soup, along with some beef brisket, steamed octopus, and North Korean-style dumplings.
While it felt like we ordered too much, every dish was something we loved and wanted to try. The side dishes included kimchi and radish pickles, which paired perfectly with the soup.
When the soups arrived, I chose the milky beef soup, which had a rich and hearty appearance reminiscent of seollongtang (a Korean beef soup). Comparing it with my friend's clear soup, I found the milky version to be much deeper in flavor and more satisfying.
Each dish was well-prepared, and the dumplings were a delightful addition. They were mildly flavored and quite addictive. The prices were reasonable, with the dumplings costing 4,000 won for half a plate and 8,000 won for a full plate.
As we dug into our meals, the beef brisket arrived, beautifully presented with tofu, chives, and garlic. The combination was excellent, and the beef was tender and flavorful. The accompanying broth was the same clear broth used in the soups, making it a great side dish.
Overall, Heigaok exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious, and I can see why it’s popular. The special sauce served with the brisket added a delightful umami flavor that enhanced the dish.
For anyone looking for a satisfying meal, Heigaok is a must-visit. I highly recommend it for those who enjoy Korean cuisine and are in the Yangsan area.
