A Must-Visit: The Braised Cutlassfish Alley in Namdaemun Market

Namdaemun Market's Braised Cutlassfish Alley
This place truly lives up to its reputation!
Hello, I'm Roum, and I love Korean food.
Whenever I visit the Namdaemun wholesale market for work,
I always make sure to stop by my all-time favorite restaurant, paid for with my own money.
It's the legendary spot in Namdaemun Market's Braised Cutlassfish Alley!
Let me introduce you to it right away.
Namdaemun Market's Cutlassfish Alley
Namdaemun Market has so many long-standing, delicious restaurants.
There are quite a few alleys dedicated to just one menu item.
There's also a noodle alley, but
the most famous one is the Braised Cutlassfish Alley in Namdaemun Market.
Among the many braised cutlassfish restaurants lining the alley,
my absolute favorite is
this place!
Where's my favorite restaurant?
Spicy and savory,
this place always comes to mind
when the cold autumn winds start to blow. It's
Jungang Cutlassfish Restaurant.
It's been around for so long,
and there's always a long line of people waiting,
so it's easy to find.
The braised cutlassfish simmers away in a pot, and
the fish is grilled to golden perfection, making my mouth water
and my stomach rumble.

Because it's a long-standing restaurant in Namdaemun Market,
there were so many people, including long-time merchants, tourists, and even foreigners.
We told them how many people were in our party,
and they seated us at a table.
Menu
The menu at Jungang Cutlassfish Restaurant, a famous braised cutlassfish restaurant in Namdaemun Market,
of course features the main dish, braised cutlassfish, as well as
various grilled fish.

Because it's a famous restaurant in Namdaemun Market,
there are many employees, so the table setting was
prepared very quickly, and we could eat right away without much waiting.

Various homemade-style side dishes were served, including side dishes, grilled fish, and seaweed.
It went well with the restaurant's atmosphere.
Several kinds of crispy, freshly grilled
fish were also served. They were crispy because they were freshly grilled,
and the inside was moist and savory.

Fluffy steamed egg, a must-have side dish that goes well with spicy braised cutlassfish and crispy grilled fish,
made the meal even more enjoyable.
The braised cutlassfish, simmering in a pot,
looked even more appetizing because it was served in an old-fashioned pot.
The braised cutlassfish at Jungang Restaurant, which is famous in Namdaemun Market's Braised Cutlassfish Alley,
was spicy and delicious.

The flesh of the large cutlassfish was tender
and didn't have any fishy smell, so it was perfect to put on top of rice, making it a great dish for these chilly days.

It was nice to eat seaweed dipped in soy sauce, reminding me of my childhood.
It went so well to wrap the soft cutlassfish and rice in the seaweed.

Putting the white cutlassfish with the spicy-sweet braised radish on top of white rice
made a bowl of rice disappear in an instant!
Concluding the article
These days, after the rain, the chilly wind
feels even colder,
and the Braised Cutlassfish Alley in Namdaemun Market,
which is gaining even more popularity,
was more crowded than ever.
My favorite, Jungang Cutlassfish Restaurant,
with its bubbly, spicy, and savory braised cutlassfish and
freshly grilled fish,
continues to offer delicious food with its 50-year tradition.
It's truly a legendary place!
