A Must-Visit Oyster Bossam Restaurant in Winter: Samhaejip Jongno Branch

As winter arrives, thoughts of delicious oyster bossam come to mind, especially at Samhaejip Jongno Branch.
This restaurant, located right in front of Jongno 3-ga Station, is one of the most popular spots in the bustling oyster bossam alley, where every shop is famous and packed with customers.

Let's dive into my honest review of this place!
Location: 16-15 Supyo-ro 20-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul
Business Hours: 10:30 AM - 2:00 AM (Closed on holidays)
Note: Group reservations are welcome, takeout is available, and free Wi-Fi is provided. There are separate restrooms for men and women. Parking is not available, but public parking lots are nearby.
Exterior: Samhaejip is situated in a crowded alley filled with numerous bossam restaurants. Despite the many options, we always choose to dine at Samhaejip.
On weekdays, it's manageable until 5 PM, but expect a wait afterward.
Interior: The restaurant has been expanded in recent years, making it quite spacious. Even during a Friday evening visit, it was bustling with customers.
After being directed to a nearby beer house due to the crowd, we found it quieter and enjoyed our time there.
The side dishes being prepared looked busy, indicating the restaurant's popularity.
Menu: The main dish here is, of course, oyster bossam, but they also offer various other dishes like octopus bossam, stir-fried octopus, steamed fish, pig's feet, and more. They serve a variety of alcoholic beverages, including soju, beer, and even highballs.
Additionally, if you write a review on Naver, you can get a complimentary bottle of soju or beer.
Basic Setup: We ordered the large oyster bossam, which is perfect for three people and offers great value for money. Most of the dishes were already set up except for the potato soup, which was served immediately upon seating.
Though the food usually comes out quickly, it took about 10 minutes this time.
The large oyster bossam included plenty of pork belly, fresh oysters, stir-fried squid, radish kimchi, and napa cabbage kimchi. The pork belly looked moist and appetizing.
Traditionally, Samhaejip serves oyster pancakes, but this time we received stir-fried squid instead, which was a bit disappointing.
The sweet and tasty dipping sauce paired well with the oysters.
The first bite combined pork, oysters, radish kimchi, and dipping sauce, and the oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious.
The combination of tender pork and fresh oysters never disappoints.
The radish kimchi was crunchy and sweet-spicy, perfectly balancing the richness of the pork and oysters.
Samhaejip also offers a complimentary bone soup that becomes tastier as it simmers while you eat the bossam. Mixing rice into the soup creates a delightful combination.
Overall Rating:
Taste: ★★★★★
Location: ★★★★★
Service: ★★★★★
Samhaejip is a must-visit oyster bossam restaurant in winter. The business seems to be thriving, and the food quality remains consistent.
The soft pork belly without any unpleasant odor and the plump oysters create a perfect combination, complemented by the side dishes.
While the atmosphere can be noisy due to the crowds, the staff works hard to ensure good service.
Would I return? Absolutely! Thank you for reading!
