A Memorable Trip to Jeonju During Chuseok

During the Chuseok holiday, I visited Jeonju with my two daughters!
This trip was primarily a healing journey for my daughter who had been unwell, and we sought out the best restaurants in Jeonju. We decided to visit a popular meat restaurant called Hoseongjeong, known for its delicious beef.

To get straight to the point, it was the tastiest Hanwoo beef I have had recently, and both of my daughters agreed it was a top-notch beef spot.
Particularly, being a meat restaurant famous for its great cooking skills, the beef truly melted in our mouths.
The Hanwoo assorted set was perfect for the three of us. We added a few extra items and ended up eating until we were stuffed. Just looking at the marbling made our mouths water, and the taste was even more incredible.
Hoseongjeong is located at 809 Dongbu-daero, Deokjin-gu, Jeonju, and it operates from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with the last order taken at 9:00 PM. Even during the Chuseok holiday, they had a large banner at the entrance indicating they were open for business.
The parking lot is conveniently located right in front of the restaurant, and there are additional parking options available. Using the nearby Muan Nakji parking lot can make parking even easier, so be sure to check before you go.
Upon entering, we passed through two doors and found ourselves in a spacious dining area. We visited around 1 PM, which was a relatively quiet time. Many diners were ordering from the lunch special menu.
We started with the Hanwoo assorted set, which was just right for three people. It cost 69,000 KRW for 300g, featuring three of the freshest cuts of beef that day, including sirloin, tenderloin, and rib meat, along with mushrooms, bean sprouts, peppers, and onions.
We were also served a variety of side dishes, including sauces and salt, with one portion per person. There was well-aged kimchi, seasoned deodeok, and green onion kimchi. The green onion kimchi was fantastic wrapped with the beef, and grilling the deodeok alongside the meat was delightful.
A complimentary soybean paste stew and refreshing muk salad were also provided, both of which are personal favorites that I couldn't resist.
We enjoyed our meal in various ways, wrapping the beef with green onion kimchi, pairing it with grilled deodeok, and even adding a touch of wasabi. As we were savoring the food, our additional orders of cold noodles and beef tartare arrived.
Upon seeing the beef tartare, I was amazed by its vibrant color. The taste of fresh tartare was exceptional—smooth, savory, and light. Even my daughter, who isn't a fan of tartare, enjoyed it.
No meal is complete without cold noodles, especially with beef. We added one serving of cold noodles to share, and the tangy, refreshing broth was perfect after the rich meat.
As we filled our table and began to eat, I was reminded of how happy it is to enjoy a hearty meal together. Nowadays, kids often ask, 'Can we eat now?' while waiting for photos and videos, which they find to be a form of torture. It made me feel a bit rushed, wanting to take beautiful pictures while seeing my daughters eager to dig in.
It was a wonderful moment, realizing how happy it is to eat well after a long time. Everyone enjoyed their meal, which made my heart even fuller.
