A Memorable Dining Experience at Ye-rang in Suwon

During my last meal with friends, we decided to visit a restaurant with private rooms in Suwon.
This place exceeded my expectations with its stunning visuals and incredible flavors, making it a perfect fit for my taste.
I couldn't keep this experience to myself, so I decided to document it.
1. Location & Address of the Restaurant
We chose 'Ye-rang', which is just a quick walk from Exit 8 of Yeongtong Station.
Even someone like me, who often gets lost, had no trouble finding it.
The impressive building next to the family court added to the grandeur of the place.
No need to worry about parking here.
The spacious parking lot is almost the size of a sports field, making it easy for even novice drivers to park.
With ample parking space, it was convenient for our gathering, and I felt a great sense of satisfaction right from the start.
The restaurant opens at 11:30 AM and serves customers until 9 PM.
This flexibility allowed us to visit for lunch or dinner at our convenience.
The interior was sparkling and modern, perfectly blending cleanliness and elegance.
There were various seating options available, which made it easy for us to choose.
We decided to go for a private room so we could chat comfortably while dining.
Even if we hadn't chosen a room, the generous spacing between tables ensured that we wouldn't be disturbed by neighboring conversations.
After seating ourselves, we eagerly browsed the extensive menu.
With so many options, it was challenging to decide!
After some delightful deliberation, we boldly opted for the restaurant's signature 'Gungjeong-style set menu.'
2. The Gungjeong-style Set Menu
After a brief wait, our table was filled with an impressive array of dishes.
The main course, side dishes, and dessert were all beautifully presented, making it feel like a true course meal.
Each dish boasted a visually appealing presentation.
As I scanned the table, I was thrilled to see many of my favorite dishes.
I was faced with the happy dilemma of deciding where to start.
The first dish was a vibrant and colorful 'Sinseollo' (a traditional hot pot).
The neatly arranged ingredients in a brass pot were a feast for the eyes.
The ingredients cooked in the bubbling broth offered a harmonious blend of flavors.
Next, the beautifully presented salmon sashimi brightened the table.
With its delicate marbling, it was pure beauty.
As soon as it touched my tongue, it melted like ice cream, filling my mouth with the rich flavor of salmon.
3. Octopus Stir-fry
The next dish that caught my eye was the octopus stir-fry.
It looked so artistic that I hesitated to eat it.
The beautifully shaped cucumbers and generously cut octopus offered a refreshing and clean taste.
Then came the unique 'Gungjung-style steamed shrimp' that greeted us.
The glistening shrimp paired with a special sauce exuded luxury.
The tender texture of the shrimp was a delight, and the balance between its natural sweetness and the delicious sauce was exceptional.
Next to the steamed shrimp was a plate of beautifully colored Hanwoo beef tartare.
The visual appeal of the tartare on a bed of vegetables was mouthwatering.
The subtle seasoning perfectly complemented the meat's natural flavor.
4. Braised Short Ribs
When my favorite braised short ribs arrived, my eyes sparkled.
The visual was top-notch, and the shiny, addictive sauce was outstanding.
The tender meat separated effortlessly from the bone, providing a delightful experience.
The rich, slightly sweet seasoning boasted deep flavors.
Every bite was a joy, right down to the last piece.
5. Soy Sauce Crab
Next, I was excited to try the soy sauce crab.
The owner mentioned it was made with fresh domestic crabs.
Thanks to the special soy sauce infused with herbal ingredients, it was absolutely delicious.
As I pressed on the crab, the rich crab meat flowed out, stimulating my taste buds.
There was no fishy taste at all, just a generous amount of orange roe, making it easy to finish a bowl of rice.
The combination of moist crab meat and rich soy sauce was unforgettable.
6. Grilled Abalone
As soon as I finished the soybean paste stew, I was drawn to the grilled abalone.
The golden-brown abalone looked irresistible.
Taking a bite confirmed just how fresh it was.
With a firm yet chewy texture, it was perfectly seasoned.
We wrapped up our meal with refreshing plum tea and sweet homemade yokan.
The sweet yokan and tangy plum tea cleansed my palate.
This restaurant in Suwon offered a high-value traditional meal, with delicious food, friendly service, and a pleasant atmosphere.
I plan to visit again with my parents next time.
