A Day Trip to Seoul with My Parents

Last Friday, I went on a day trip to Seoul with my parents.
Since my parents had never taken the KTX before, we decided to take it for the first time on our trip to Seoul! My younger brother couldn't join us due to prior commitments, so it was just the three sisters accompanying our parents.

We traveled from Tangjeong to Cheonan-Asan and then to Seoul Station.
This was my parents' first experience on the KTX, and they were filled with excitement.
I took the 8:55 AM train from Tangjeong Station to Cheonan-Asan Station.
We met up with my siblings at Cheonan-Asan Station for the 9:33 AM KTX. Although the train was delayed by about six minutes, my parents were thrilled to ride the KTX for the first time.
Once we arrived at Seoul Station, we walked to a recommended restaurant called Do-on(도온 서울역점), known for its pot rice. We arrived around 10:45 AM for the 11 AM opening and waited a bit before entering.
It felt like we could only enter once the whole party arrived, but since we were all together, we could go in right away.
Do-on means a place that warms the rice in a pot, and the name itself felt warm and inviting, perfect for bringing my parents.
We ordered the radish stew cod pot rice for my parents and the second youngest, while I and the second sister opted for steak pot rice, along with an order of potato pancakes.
The presentation of the food was neat and clean, and the restaurant was spacious, making it great for dining with my parents. The cod was tender and perfectly seasoned, which my parents particularly enjoyed. The steak pot rice had generous portions of meat.
My parents' favorite was definitely the radish stew cod pot rice.

The potato pancakes were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, and I was glad we added them to our order.
After our meal, we participated in a review event and received two toothbrushes, which I gave to my parents. Such little events can really lift your spirits.
After a hearty meal, we called a Kakao Taxi Venti to move to the National Museum of Korean History, considering my parents' age and the cold weather. The Venti was much more comfortable for our group than a regular taxi.

We decided to explore indoors due to the cold, and since my parents couldn't walk for long, we focused on visiting just one location.
We enjoyed the exhibits, took photos of my parents, and time flew by quickly.
Since I had booked the 2:58 PM KTX, while my siblings stopped by a pharmacy, we called the Kakao Taxi Venti again to head to the pharmacy.
After shopping at the pharmacy, we took a bus for two stops to get back to Seoul Station.
Back at Seoul Station, we waited for our train while enjoying coffee at Cafe Dore Dore. My parents had warm vanilla lattes, my siblings had warm yuzu tea, and I opted for an iced matcha latte.
After enjoying our sweet drinks while waiting, we boarded the KTX back home.
When we arrived at Cheonan-Asan Station, my younger brother picked us up, and we returned home comfortably. Although it was a day trip, it was a rewarding and memorable day spent with my parents.
