A Memorable Company Dinner at Noryangjin Fish Market

After much consideration on where to go for our company dinner, we decided to try something a bit more special this time and headed to Noryangjin Fish Market.
Typically, company dinners revolve around meat or drinking establishments, but changing the atmosphere with seafood definitely offers a different level of satisfaction.
This time, we were particularly looking for a place where we could enjoy king crab and assorted sashimi together, which led us to choose 'Ujeong Fisheries'.
1. Reasons for Choosing Noryangjin Fish Market for the Company Dinner
Whenever we plan a company dinner, we often struggle with the menu. However, this time everyone was on the same page.
Let's eat something substantial!
So naturally, we decided on king crab at Noryangjin Fish Market.
Those who have been here know that there are so many stores that it can be really challenging to decide where to go.
To narrow it down, we set some criteria: good yield, no scale tricks, quality of packaging and processing, service structure, and payment convenience.
Based on these criteria, we ultimately decided on Ujeong Fisheries.
The location was also surprisingly convenient, situated on the first floor of the new building at Noryangjin Fish Market, making it easy to find.
Taking the elevator down from the parking lot, we quickly located it, which made it easy for everyone from the company to gather.
Access is crucial for a dinner venue, and we were quite satisfied with this aspect.
The condition of the tanks gave us confidence right from the start. The first thing we saw upon arrival was the tanks, which is really important.
Even if a place is known for king crab, the state of the tanks can give you an immediate impression.
Here, the water was clean, and the seafood was lively.
From king crabs to snow crabs, abalone, shrimp, and various shellfish, the variety was impressive, and overall, we felt we could trust this place.
Honestly, the biggest concern when visiting Noryangjin Fish Market is the scales. However, what was remarkable here was their use of perforated drainage baskets to minimize the weight of water absorption, allowing for accurate measurements.
This makes a significant difference, as many other places hardly use this method, making it a first in the fish market.
This transparency in their operations gave us a sense of trust.
2. A-Grade Seafood Brought in Daily via Auction
They explained that all seafood is brought in through daily auctions, and only high-yield A-grade products are handled.
They do not deal with low-quality products at all, and seeing this in person reinforced our trust.
When choosing king crab at Noryangjin Fish Market, I felt this was the most important aspect.
3. Enjoying King Crab + Assorted Sashimi Together
For this dinner, we wanted to indulge, so we enjoyed king crab, assorted sashimi, crab fried rice, and even some drinks.
What was great here was the 'customized sashimi' system, allowing us to select the sashimi we wanted, combining items like flounder, salmon, and yellowtail according to our preferences.
Since everyone's tastes differ, this was really convenient.
We also received a complimentary shrimp service when we ordered the customized sashimi through Naver, enhancing our dining experience even further.
Starting with the main dish, the yield of the king crab was incredible. The meat was so tender that it practically fell off the shell.
4. Sauce Selection is Clearly Differentiated
When you order king crab, many places only provide a dipping sauce, but here they offer four types: soy sauce, chili sauce, tartar sauce, and wasabi mayo.
Since we ate on the second floor, we didn't receive the sauces separately.
King crab is delicious on its own, but switching up the sauces would definitely enhance the flavor.
5. Starting to Eat
We started with the sashimi, which was cut thickly, providing a great texture.
The yellowtail was particularly rich and melted in the mouth, and wrapping it in seaweed or adding wasabi made it irresistible.
6. The King Crab is the Star
The main event, the king crab, truly needed no words.
Just cracking the shell slightly revealed that it was packed with meat, which was flavorful whether eaten plain or with sauce.
Everyone at the table was so focused on eating that it became silent.
7. Crab Fried Rice is a Must
You absolutely have to try the crab fried rice! It’s cooked in the crab shell, with seaweed and sesame enhancing its flavor.
Topping it with crab meat makes for a perfect finish.
Of course, you can't forget the drinks; seafood and drinks go hand in hand.
Pairing soju with king crab and sashimi reminded me how great this combination is.
We even made ramen, and the broth tasted incredibly rich.
The payment process was also convenient, which is important these days.
They accept various vouchers, which helped reduce the burden of the dinner costs.
8. Overall Review
Now I understand why people return here.
I've been to many places for king crab at Noryangjin Fish Market, but this experience was definitely different.
High-yield A-grade seafood, the drainage basket scale system, customized sashimi, varied sauce selection, and quality service all contributed to a heightened level of satisfaction.
It's a great atmosphere for company dinners, and personally, I plan to visit again.
If you want to truly enjoy Noryangjin's assorted sashimi and king crab, this is a place worth experiencing.
