A Memorable Birthday Party at a Cocktail Bar in Bangi-dong
19-7, Olympic-ro 32-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul

Last weekend, I was looking for a place near Bangi-dong for a friend's birthday party. A friend recommended a cocktail bar in Bangi-dong, and we had such a memorable party in a private atmosphere that I wanted to share it.

Address: 2nd floor, 19-7, Olympic-ro 32-gil, Songpa-gu, Seoul
Hours: 7:00 PM - 2:00 AM (Closed on Sundays)
Martin Bar is located in the Bangi-dong Food Street, an 8-minute walk from Jamsil Station. The red sign on the 2nd floor of the building was easy to spot, so it was easy to find even though it was my first time there.
We visited after filling up at a nearby Korean BBQ restaurant. Even while going up the stairs to the 2nd floor, the bar's sign caught my eye.
As soon as we entered, soft old pop songs were playing, and the owner of the Bangi-dong cocktail bar greeted us warmly.
It's a traditional bar that has been in operation for over 30 years, filled with emotionally-rich interior design and props. There were a lot of guitars in one corner of the room, and they offer free guitar lessons if customers want them.
There was also a large beam projector installed, so you could watch major sporting events. Bangi-dong is usually full of noisy places, but this place felt like a hideout and was great for enjoying a private time.
There was so much to see that it was fun to look around. I felt that the owner had great artistic sensibility, from the photos of the owner to the various decorations.
I also saw a painting that a customer had given as a gift, and I could see not only the artistry but also the strong bond between the owner and the customer.
The variety of liquors displayed at the Bangi-dong cocktail bar was also impressive. The unique charm of the bar was well-expressed, which made me feel different.
Soon, our group moved to a table. We had made a reservation in advance, so the table was neatly set with basic snacks.
They also have private rooms, so if you want to spend some quality time with your loved ones, you should visit.
Soon, we were able to choose our desired cocktails and whiskeys from the menu. I was touched that the owner kindly explained the types I didn't know well.
Before long, the birthday party spread was beautifully completed. The colorful drinks were pleasing to the eye.
The basic snacks at the Bangi-dong cocktail bar consist of crackers, dried squid, and chocolate. They were finger foods that were easy to grab and captivated my taste buds.
First, I cleansed my palate with a 12-year-old Balvenie whiskey. I was satisfied with the smooth, creamy texture and the harmonious blend of sweet flavors.
The Blue Hawaii, reminiscent of the blue sea, had a sweet and sour, refreshing taste. The subtle sweetness of the rum and the aroma of alcohol added depth to the flavor.
I also remember the tropical cocktail called Pina Colada. The sweetness of pineapple and the creaminess of coconut were well balanced.
In fact, I tasted so many kinds of cocktails that day that it was a whole new world. The Bangi-dong cocktail bar seems to be perfect for beginners.
On the other hand, the Kamikaze cocktail was also my style, and its unique, tangy acidity made me smile.
Tequila Sunrise had an impressive, beautiful color that resembled a sunrise. I could feel the unique aroma of tequila, but the orange juice and grenadine syrup caught the taste, so I was satisfied.
But there were still mountains of cocktails I hadn't experienced. I thought, 'When else would I taste them?' so I ordered a lot of other types.
This time, they prepared the Tequila Sunrise in green. The similar yet different flavors in two styles were impressive.
This is the Martini cocktail at the Bangi-dong cocktail bar, which is characterized by its dry and clean taste. The unique herbal scent of gin and the complex flavor of vermouth created a luxurious feel.
Dart Cherry was a sweet and sour charm, with the original taste of cherry harmonizing with other ingredients.
Everyone's cheeks were flushed red, and the birthday party atmosphere continued merrily. With good friends and alcohol, this was like paradise.
The Black Russian cocktail at the Bangi-dong cocktail bar lived up to its reputation, delivering a strong and heavy taste. The intensity of vodka and the smoothness of coffee liqueur went well together.
Screw Driver cocktail is easy to overdrink because of the sweetness of orange juice. I could definitely feel a richer taste, perhaps because they use good quality orange juice.
I gave Johnny Walker Black to friends who lacked alcohol. I also vividly remember the moment when the owner played the guitar and sang a congratulatory song for my friend's birthday.
It was truly a Bangi-dong cocktail bar that gave me precious memories that I will never forget. It's a great place to enjoy a private time on special and precious days such as birthday parties, so be sure to visit.
