While looking for a place to celebrate my mother's birthday, I came across Yeon, a new Korean fine dining restaurant in Haeundae!
It's only been open for a little over 3 months :)
I usually avoid newly opened places for important occasions (as the system might not be fully established, and things can be chaotic), but the atmosphere looked so luxurious and appealing that I made a reservation.
Since it was the Chuseok holiday, I made a reservation in advance, but as the date approached, I became concerned about the negative reviews on CatchTable.
But what else could I do?
It's located on the 3rd floor of the same building as 'Paris & Cake', which I posted about previously.
Parking is available in the paid parking lot next to the building. They provide 1 hour of free parking for lunch and 2 hours for dinner (apparently, one car is supported per two people?).
The parking lot is on flat ground and spacious, so parking is easy.
This is the feeling you get when you enter. I personally loved the atmosphere :) The pictures came out beautifully.
There seemed to be plenty of private rooms, and the hall seats were separated by partitions that looked like walls, which was great!
The view from our seats. The weather was cloudy, so we could only see the waves slightly between the Paradise Hotel bridge.

This is the lunch course. The main dishes are the same as the dinner course, but there are fewer courses.
The dinner course consists of these 6 items. Korean Beef Sirloin Steak and Seafood Abalone Skate Stew must be reserved in advance (Braised Short Ribs can only be ordered in pairs, for 2 or more people).
Keep in mind that you can enjoy the dinner course at lunch if you order in advance!
Today's Menu:
Braised Short Ribs Dinner (for 2)
Korean Beef and Baby Octopus Dinner (for 1)
The bill holder they brought after we ordered was so pretty.
The first course, a welcoming dish, was Chestnut Porridge, but I forgot to take a picture. It was a very smoothly ground porridge, and the chestnut flavor was quite sweet and delicious. It felt a bit like dessert haha.
And then came the bite-sized amuse-bouche:
Beef tartare seasoned with gochujang (Korean chili paste) and sesame oil
Deep-fried Jeonju bibimbap balls
Melon and yuzu jelly
You're supposed to eat them from the beef tartare on the left to the right. The plating is cute!>

I'm not usually a fan of beef tartare, but it was fresh and well-seasoned, so I could eat it without any hesitation.
The deep-fried Jeonju bibimbap, reminiscent of arancini, was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Who would have thought of deep-frying Jeonju bibimbap... a true master of taste! It was delicious!!
And the last jelly served as a palate cleanser. The scent of yuzu filled my mouth, making me feel good.
Slightly disappointed that the appetizers were a bit too strong.
Next came three appetizers:
Greater amberjack sashimi
Water dropwort pickles
Barley doenjang (soybean paste)
The greater amberjack sashimi was very tender, as if it had been aged! The barley doenjang was very salty, so I only took a small amount. The water dropwort pickles were also unique and delicious.
The next dishes:
Rockfish fries (seasonal)
Thinly sliced beef pan-fried

Since the fries were warm, I ate them first. The flesh was plump, and the batter was crispy, so it was incredibly delicious!!! Personally, this was my favorite.
The thin beef slices were even more flavorful when eaten with the shredded radish salad that came with them. It seemed like the beef was lightly seasoned to complement the radish.
The server explained the dishes as they were served, but I couldn't hear them well.
And they kept coming and going, seemingly checking the timing for serving the next dish (probably).
Actually, the most common complaints in the reviews were that the food was too salty and that the dishes came out too slowly. Fortunately, that wasn't the case for us (although the gap between courses was a bit longer compared to other course restaurants).
White rice cooked in an individual pot, Korean Beef Soybean Paste Stew, 4 side dishes
Korean Beef and Baby Octopus
Braised Short Ribs (for 2)
And then came the main dishes.

The 4 side dishes when we went were: kimchi, Tofu and mugwort salad, cucumber kimchi, and perilla seed bracken.
The braised short ribs were so tender that the bones simply fell off, and it contained butternut squash, chestnuts, potatoes, and mushrooms, which were delicious.
The Korean beef and baby octopus were stir-fried in a slightly spicy sauce. The baby octopus was chewy and plump. It felt like there was more beef than octopus. The server scooped the rice from the pot and poured hot water into it.

The warm stew looked so delicious, but it was too salty. The Korean beef and baby octopus were also heavily seasoned, so I thought it would be delicious to add a lot of rice to the leftover sauce and stir-fry it. haha.
After eating that, you can finish your meal by eating the scorched rice soup!

After the meal, if you press the bell, they will come to clear the table and serve the dessert.
Elegant fruits and Omija tea (magnolia berry tea).

The Omija tea was refreshing and a good way to finish the meal. It was dark when I finished eating. The darkness was also charming.
While talking, I noticed the pretty napkin holder.
I talked while eating fruit and got up.
The atmosphere is very good, and the interior is very pretty, but if I were to spend this much money, I think I would go to a place with better food.
