A Delightful Visit to Ichigyu at Seoul Station

Hello, this is Moa :) On a sunny Sunday afternoon, I met my church sister and visited Ichigyu Seoul Station, a highly recommended restaurant. The location can be a bit confusing, so I've included directions below.
To reach Ichigyu Seoul Station, walk approximately 121 meters from Exit 10 of Seoul Station. After exiting, head towards the LG Seoul Station building for about a minute. Go down the escalator located on the right side of the main entrance of the LG building to reach the restaurant on the basement level.
In simpler terms, once you exit through Exit 10, you should see a restaurant sign. Enter the building and take the escalator down to find Ichigyu.
It’s only a one-minute walk from Exit 10. Just head straight towards the LG Seoul Station building, pass the external stairs in front, and take the escalator on the right side of the main entrance to find the restaurant on the basement level. You won’t get lost with Google Maps; it’s straightforward!
We visited at 11:30 AM on Sunday and were fortunate to get a table immediately without waiting.
This is the entrance to Ichigyu Seoul Station, a perfect spot for a date near Seoul Station. It was quite busy, likely due to its popularity, but we were seated right in the center.
If you're looking for a hearty meal near Seoul Station, Ichigyu is an excellent choice. It’s already well-known among many office workers and travelers, so expect some waiting time, which only reflects its reputation for great taste. If you enjoy gyukatsu, especially with a crispy exterior and juicy interior, you will be satisfied here.
Ichigyu operates daily from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM, with a break from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The last order for lunch is at 2:00 PM and for dinner at 8:30 PM. There might be some waiting during peak lunchtime on weekdays, but the turnover is relatively quick. If you have a large group, it’s wise to call ahead for reservations.
While Ichigyu is famous for its gyukatsu, the menu offers a variety of options. You can find gyukatsu tenderloin, ribeye, stamina steak, truffle gyudon, and various udon dishes, among others.
We ordered the gyukatsu ribeye, stamina steak, and a drink set. Uniquely, you grill the gyukatsu on a hot plate, allowing you to control the doneness to your liking. A slightly rare piece of meat grilled on the plate enhances the meaty aroma.
The highlight of the meal was the butter. Placing a slice of butter on the hot plate to melt before grilling the meat transformed the flavor entirely. The crispy exterior and juicy interior remained, while the richness of the butter enhanced the taste.
The gyukatsu was thickly sliced yet incredibly tender, and the stamina steak was juicy, making our choice perfect. This place offers a menu that appeals to both Korean and Japanese cuisine lovers, making it a great choice for a date with universal appeal.
We thoroughly enjoyed the flavorful gyukatsu with butter.
If you’re looking for a lunch or dinner spot near Seoul Station, Ichigyu is a solid option. It’s accessible, has a clean atmosphere, and most importantly, the gyukatsu is delicious.
Highly recommend for a date, a lunch break for office workers, or a satisfying meal before or after traveling.
Be sure to experience the delightful combination of crispy gyukatsu and butter!
