A Delightful Sushi Omakase Experience at Sushi Sanwon Gung in Jongno

This post is a review written after personally experiencing the restaurant, with a voucher provided by the company.

I recently visited Sushi Sanwon Gung, a sushi omakase restaurant in Jongno.

Located in Jongno, Sushi Sanwon Gung offered a luxurious and comfortable atmosphere, along with reasonably priced sushi omakase. I was really looking forward to the experience.

It was easy to find, just a short walk from Exit 2 of Gwanghwamun Station or Exit 6 of Anguk Station.

It's located on the B1 floor of the K Twin Tower.

With its inviting ambiance, it's a great place to visit for dates or gatherings.

The subtle lighting and luxurious atmosphere make it perfect for those looking for a lunch course near Gwanghwamun or Gyeongbokgung Station.

The lunch omakase is priced at ₩60,000, and the dinner omakase at ₩120,000. I visited during lunchtime.

I also ordered draft beer and cider to complement the meal.

The drinks were promptly served.

First, a smooth steamed egg custard with katsuobushi broth was served. It was savory and warm, so I finished it quickly.

The spring roll with asparagus had a delightfully crispy texture.

It tasted even better when eaten with the refreshing tomato relish.

I was curious about the sushi at Sushi Sanwon Gung. The first sushi to appear in the lunch course was sea bream sushi.

It was garnished with chives, which added a fragrant touch.

The second sushi was red shrimp, which was made more refreshing with a squeeze of lime.

The striped jack also had a wonderfully smooth texture.

The amount of shari (sushi rice) was just right, and the soy sauce was brushed on each piece, allowing us to chat comfortably during the meal.

The Jeju cuttlefish sushi was also a memorable piece. The delicate knife cuts created a wonderfully tender texture.

The amberjack sushi was equally delightful with its smooth texture.

The monkfish liver was served directly into my hand, and it had a creamy and rich flavor.

Even though it was just the lunch course, the portions were generous. I was already full after eating just this much.

Next, the silver cod was served with rice for mixing, which was very delicious.

The warm miso soup was also a great accompaniment.

The soy-marinated tuna akami (lean tuna) was also delightful, with its smooth texture and savory flavor.

The tuna belly at Sushi Sanwon Gung was truly delicious. The rich flavor that filled my mouth was captivating.

If the lunch course was this delicious, I can only imagine what the dinner course is like. I'd like to visit for dinner next time.

The herring was also flavorful and not at all fishy.

The anago (sea eel) sushi, which I always look forward to when having omakase, finally appeared.

The sea eel sushi at Sushi Sanwon Gung was served with salt and yuzu, which enhanced its clean and fresh taste.

The onsoba (warm soba noodles) and futomaki (thick sushi roll) were the perfect ending to the meal, and I was completely full.

The courses were well-composed and delicious, and the atmosphere was great. I felt that it was a great value.

The meal lasted almost a full hour, and I enjoyed it so much that I plan to revisit for a special occasion.

The finishing dessert was clean and delicious, making it a truly enjoyable lunch course.

Sushi Sanwon Gung is a great choice for those looking for sushi omakase in Jongno, or for sushi, Japanese cuisine, course meals, or sushi omakase near Gyeongbokgung Station, Anguk Station, or Gwanghwamun Station!
