During a visit to Ansan with my mother, we stumbled upon a local gem recommended for its delicious food! We decided to try Choburi Kimchi Stew, a restaurant known for its authentic flavors, and enjoyed a delightful meal together. Here’s my honest review of our experience.
To cut to the chase, Ansan Choburi Kimchi Stew is the perfect choice for those tired of artificial seasoning. The refreshing and spicy broth, derived from well-fermented kimchi, is exceptional and has even satisfied my discerning mother’s taste, proving its reputation as a verified eatery.
This place offers a hearty meal that is perfect for any occasion, whether you’re looking for comfort food or a hangover remedy.
Located at 145-7 Gwangdeok 3-ro, Danwon-gu, Ansan, this restaurant is a true representation of home-cooked meals, with each ingredient prepared with care. It’s especially popular among local office workers due to its location near Gojan Station.
Parking information: The restaurant has a convenient private parking lot. During lunchtime, the roadside parking can fill up quickly, but there are paid parking options nearby and a basement parking area in the building. There’s also free public parking available along the street, so if you find a spot, you can park there. Although peak times might see a lot of cars, the quick turnover of meals means parking stress is minimal.
The ambiance strikes a balance between a nostalgic old-school feel and a clean, tidy environment. While the exterior shows signs of age, the interior is well-maintained, with a clean sign that catches the eye. The entrance features appetizing food photos that entice customers.

We happily shared the ice cream and misutgaru slush, which was nutty and refreshing, prompting us to refill it twice!
