A Delicious Seafood Jjim Experience Near Silleuksa Temple in Yeoju

On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 1 PM, I visited a seafood jjim (steamed seafood) restaurant near Silleuksa Temple in Yeoju, recommended by an acquaintance. Free parking is available on the roadside in front of the building.

This place is known in the neighborhood, and it was my first visit. I ordered the 'Emperor Jjim' (황제찜), fried rice, and cold noodles (naengmyeon).

The Emperor Jjim included various seafood such as shrimp, squid, and abalone, combined with cordyceps, bean sprouts, and a flavorful sauce. The sauce was top-notch, and the portion of seafood, including large squid, medium-sized shrimp, and small abalone, was generous and delicious.

Side dishes included salad, pickled onions, cucumber, eggplant, and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi). While not numerous, they were neat and clean.

After finishing the jjim, I had the fried rice, which was savory and tasty. The cold noodles were refreshing but tasted ordinary.

I heard this restaurant also does well with braised spicy anglerfish (agujjim), spicy cuttlefish and octopus (gapojingeo nakji jjim), Korean beef bone soup (hanu gomtang), and bulgogi (Korean BBQ beef). I'll have to try those next time.

The staff were friendly. The building has a traditional Korean (Hanok) exterior, and the interior decor is average but clean. Considering the location (Yeoju), the amount and quality of food, the value for money is average.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy delicious seafood jjim or agujjim, despite the average value for money.
