On a sunny weekend, after exploring Masan Fish Market and enjoying the sea breeze at Masan Marine Park, I stumbled upon a fantastic restaurant while searching for a place to satisfy my hunger. It was 'Hido Katsu Hapogu Branch' in Masan Hapogu. With the sparkling sea behind me under the bright sunlight, I felt lighthearted at the thought of a delicious lunch. Although it was an unfamiliar neighborhood, I was drawn in by the clean exterior and cozy atmosphere, and I stepped inside without hesitation. I was filled with anticipation for a hearty meal with delicious tonkatsu.

Whenever I visit Masan, I always seem to find a place I want to revisit, and this time, 'Hido Katsu' is definitely on that list. It's located very close to Masan Fish Market and Masan Marine Park, making it a perfect course for a meal and a stroll. I drove there, but parking was not a concern at all. I could conveniently park in the building's parking lot or in the underground parking lot of the adjacent Dongseong Saerom Mirinae Apartment, earning it a perfect score for convenience. If you're looking for a great restaurant in Masan, be sure to add this place to your list!

The Epitome of Crispy on the Outside, Juicy on the Inside: A New World of Tonkatsu

Finally, it was time to taste the main menu: the tonkatsu. The Assorted Katsu, in particular, is the best choice when you can't decide what to eat, as it allows you to enjoy pork loin, tenderloin, and cheese katsu all at once. The thick-cut pork loin had a truly crispy coating, yet the inside was moist and tender. With every bite, savory juices filled my mouth, leaving me utterly impressed. The outside was perfectly crispy, but the inside was not dry at all, with a perfect blush pink color that indicated the ideal level of doneness.

The hirekatsu (tenderloin) was so tender that it practically melted in my mouth. The clean, non-gamey flavor was exceptional, and I could feel the rich juices along with the soft texture. And the cheese katsu! The visual of the cheese stretching out was, of course, amazing, and the savory flavor was fantastic without being greasy. The coating, cheese, and the pork inside harmonized perfectly, delivering a rich taste. It was amazing that I could enjoy so many different flavors and textures with just one tonkatsu.

The tonkatsu wasn't the only delicious thing. I couldn't leave out another signature menu item here: jjageuli. There are three types: pork, spicy pork, and kimchi jjageuli. I chose the spicy pork jjageuli, which was appealing with its spicy soup. The jjageuli, filled with large chunks of pork and various vegetables, was mouthwatering just to look at. The rich, spicy broth was perfect for mixing with rice, and a bowl of rice disappeared in an instant.

Above all, the biggest charm of the jjageuli is that the ramen noodles are endlessly refillable! Adding ramen noodles to the spicy broth doubled and tripled the flavor. The chewy noodles and rich broth were a match made in heaven. The jjageuli and ramen noodle combination was truly a rice thief. Both the tonkatsu and jjageuli were excellent, making me want to try other types of jjageuli on my next visit.

Sauces and salad dressings were also available at each table, so I could refill as much as I wanted without feeling self-conscious. These small details made the dining experience even more satisfying. In addition, there was a service that provided a free drink for participating in a Naver review event, making it an even more pleasant way to end the meal.

All of the menu items were excellent, and the addition of the spacious and pleasant restaurant atmosphere, convenient system, and friendly service made for a perfect dining experience. It's worthy of being called a Masan tonkatsu restaurant, and it felt even more special in that you can enjoy both jjageuli and tonkatsu.
