Paju Unjeong Restaurant: Excellent Value for Money in Unjeong Yadang

On a pleasant autumn day, I went for a walk in Unjeong Lake Park and visited a great restaurant in Paju Unjeong.

It's a place where you can enjoy healthy Korean food, and it offers excellent value for money, so I had a great time as always.

Impressive appearance

Address: 1st floor, Central Park Plaza, 170 Gaon-ro, Paju-si

Operating Hours: Daily 11:00 - 20:00 (Break time 15:00-17:00)

Parking: In front of the building, or Unjeong Lake Park Parking Lot 3 when full

1. Location of the Restaurant

You can see the restaurant when you cross the Sky Bridge, a famous landmark of Lake Park, and exit towards Lotte Castle. It seems like many locals visit because it's a great place to stop by after a walk.

You can use the parking space in front of the store, and it was also convenient that Lake Park Parking Lot 3 is only a 200m walk away.

It's a Korean restaurant that's great for the whole family, so it was well-equipped with convenient items such as high chairs for children.

A restaurant that is friendly to the elderly and children is one of the reasons why it is a famous restaurant in Paju Unjeong.

2. Inside the Restaurant

When you open the door and go inside, you can't help but admire the more charming interior than you think. The roof tile details looked particularly cute, so I had to take a picture.

It was also refreshing to give Yakgwa (Korean honey cookie) and yogurt to customers who write a review with a receipt. It was fun that it wasn't the usual liquor or drinks, and it was nice to see that the identity as a Korean restaurant was strong.

3. Restaurant Menu

The menu supports both digital and analog methods. I liked the system where I could comfortably check the menu with a booklet and order accurately with a kiosk.

The food is served in a Banzang (small table) form that recreates the dining culture of our ancestors, who pursued one table per person.

Thanks to this, I liked the fact that I could enjoy my share of the meal neatly and leisurely, and I recognized the details of the Paju Unjeong restaurant.

We ordered a mix of grilled fish, bibimbap, and noodles. The food came out quickly, so I was able to satisfy my hunger quickly.

4. A Full Table

Because we enjoyed a pretty grand walk, we were very hungry. So, we ordered a Grilled Croaker Set Meal, Spicy Radish Noodles, and Cold Anchovy Noodles with Grilled Short Rib Patties Set each.

If you choose the Grilled Croaker Set Meal, you can receive a bowl of rice made with mugwort, soybean paste stew, and a whole fish. You can also quickly make bibimbap using wild greens.

Three side dishes are provided according to the season. Enjoying seasonal vegetables with a home-cooked feel is also a highlight of the Paju Unjeong restaurant.

The ingredients were so fresh that the texture when chewing was really good. I thought the 'flavor' was good because I could enjoy not only the taste but also the aroma.

I heard that I could choose between Muksabal (acorn jelly soup) and soybean paste stew, so I chose soybean paste stew. The hot and savory soup is perfect for the cooler weather.

Although it is a mild white fish, grilling the skin very crispy brings out the savory flavor. The skin was cooked so well that it made a crispy sound when chewed.

5. Wild Vegetable Bibimbap

The casually provided wild greens are also one of the menus of the Paju Unjeong restaurant. With the seasoning sauce, you can add mugwort rice and mix it to create authentic wild vegetable bibimbap.

The seasoning sauce provided separately was even more special because it contained the restaurant's own secret. It seemed like dozens of subtle flavors were mixed in the salty taste.

Having grilled fish, bibimbap, and soybean paste stew in front of me made me feel like I was being served three dishes at once.

Eating proper Korean food after a long time seemed to wash away even mental fatigue. The restaurant was health itself for those who are tired of mediocre delivery food.

For Muksabal and noodle menus, you can also choose a set menu with grilled short rib patties. It was also possible to order as a light single item.

My friend, who chose a single serving of Spicy Radish Noodles while saying she was managing her weight, was also embarrassed by the unexpected abundance. I was grateful for the generous portions even for single items.

Because the noodles came out alive, it was easy to mix them with the sauce. It was also fun to eat the spicy and sour noodles with crunchy radish.

Because I had been sweating lightly after walking around Lake Park, I also felt grateful for the refreshing broth with a slight frost.

6. Cold Anchovy Noodles

My friend, who chose the Cold Anchovy Noodles with Grilled Short Rib Patties Set, saying that noodles alone would not be enough, was very satisfied with the generous amount.

When you put salty grilled short rib patties on top of the savory anchovy noodles, the seasoning is just right, so I was impressed not only by the amount but also by the taste.

Although it was cold noodles, I could feel a deep taste in the broth. The appropriate saltiness brought out the savory taste of Korean food, so I had no choice but to recommend the Paju Unjeong restaurant.

The grilled short rib patties were also of a quality that made me feel worthwhile to choose the set. The meat was especially good, so the tender texture was excellent.

7. Overall Review

This is a place that has accumulated 24 years of know-how while adhering to the principle of 'food as medicine', which means preparing healthy food that is good for the body.

Thanks to this, I think I can confidently recommend the Paju Unjeong restaurant because it is a place where you can enjoy emotional dishes that Koreans can never hate.
