During my trip to Jeju, I wanted to savor some authentic local cuisine, so I visited Gyoraehyang, a well-known restaurant located in the town of Jocheon.

The restaurant's exterior blends beautifully with the lush nature surrounding it, exuding the charm of a local eatery.

Before even stepping inside, I was filled with anticipation at the thought of a beautifully arranged Jeju-style meal awaiting me.

1. A Memorable Local Meal

After placing my order and taking a seat, the table was soon filled with an abundant array of dishes.

The spicy braised hairtail, grilled hairtail, stir-fried pork, and freshly made rice created a visually satisfying feast.

The charming, standalone building of Gyoraehyang welcomed guests with its neat appearance.

With ample parking space available, it’s very convenient for visitors using rental cars.

Upon entering, I was greeted by numerous celebrity signatures adorning the walls, instantly boosting my confidence in the restaurant's reputation.

The warm, wooden interior was spacious and comfortable, making it suitable for group gatherings or family trips.

Each table was equipped with a convenient tablet for easy ordering, ensuring a smooth dining experience.

Special seating for families with young children was also neatly arranged, showcasing thoughtful amenities for a comfortable dining atmosphere.

The kitchen was busy preparing rice pots, filling the air with a delightful aroma. The rice is cooked on-site, promising the best flavor.

Before the main dishes arrived, the side dishes were beautifully presented, each reflecting the chef's skill.

From perfectly fried tofu to fragrant fern salad, every dish was delightful.

I enjoyed a piece of warm, grilled tofu topped with spicy, well-fermented kimchi, which complemented the smooth texture of the tofu perfectly.

The stir-fried glass noodles boasted a chewy texture, harmonizing beautifully with mushrooms and spinach.

2. Perfectly Cooked Rice

The freshly made rice at Gyoraehyang shone with a glossy appearance as soon as the lid was lifted.

The rich aroma of the rice was enticing, and it tasted wonderfully sweet on its own.

As I scooped a generous spoonful of the fluffy rice into my bowl, I prepared for the main meal.

Being freshly cooked, the rice had the perfect stickiness, promising a great pairing with the main dishes.

3. Grilled Hairtail

The grilled hairtail arrived on a large plate, making a grand entrance with its impressive presence.

Perfectly grilled, the skin was crispy while the flesh remained soft and moist.

The staff skillfully deboned the hairtail, making it easy and enjoyable to eat.

I placed a piece of the tender hairtail on a bed of rice, topped it with spicy kimchi, and took a big bite.

The mild flavor of the hairtail melted in my mouth, creating a perfect combination.

The stir-fried black pork, sizzling on the iron plate, was attractively seasoned with a sweet and spicy sauce.

Its chewy yet tender texture was perfectly complemented by the well-absorbed seasoning.

4. Hearty Braised Hairtail

The braised hairtail simmered on the table, filling the air with a spicy aroma and presenting a visually stunning dish.

The rich red sauce had deeply penetrated the hairtail, making it look irresistible.

As I prepared to taste the thick chunks of hairtail, I was already impressed by its substantial feel.

The tender meat, combined with the flavorful sauce, created a delightful blend of tastes.

5. Exceptional Seasoning

I enjoyed a generous piece of hairtail on top of warm rice, experiencing the delightful harmony of textures and flavors.

The soft radish and potato, infused with the braised hairtail's seasoning, were also delicious.

Overall, Gyoraehyang in Jocheon offers a wonderful experience with its fresh hairtail dishes, flavorful black pork stir-fry, and perfectly cooked rice.

This restaurant is ideal for anyone seeking a satisfying meal that caters to all ages. If you find yourself in Jocheon, I highly recommend visiting this place for a hearty and rich local dining experience.
